Apple is much bigger than Ableton.
I'd rather Ableton take their time being in a perpetual lean cycle, than have them destroy their well being with agile.
...as long as they fix the problems of the predecessor as quickly as possible.

Re: Low budget acoustic treatment in garage?
If you don't care about looks either... Insulate the walls/ceiling and leave it exposed. Big shag rug on the floor. This is a great answer as well. You can eventually cover the walls with some cloth and you're probably pretty close to good. The garage door itself will always be a problem though. Ro...

Re: Low budget acoustic treatment in garage?
Sorry but the only good advise there was from crazyabouthouse. Curtains and drapes will only work minimally on very high frequencies leaving the lower frequencies a mess. My advise is visit the studio building and acoustics section at gearslutz and brace yourself for a learning curve. I believe my ...

Re: Ableton cannot find samples that have barely moved?!
shuutobi, it's not just taking a while - after 40 minutes it announced it hadn't found anything! Now when I click to autosearch it takes around a minute, then tells me nothing was found. Absolutely disgraceful. I'm seething! That as well... Most of the time it finds nothing, and I have to manually ...

Re: Ableton cannot find samples that have barely moved?!
Yeah, Ableton has always been quite horrible at finding missing files. I can search for a file in explorer from "Location A," and it takes less than a second. If I search for a the same file via Lives autofind, and start at the same directory, it may take 4 hours or something. p.s. I have ...

Some people choose not to use iLok based software, this does not imply they're using illegal software.

Re: PROMETHEUS
I went to check out the trailer but it told me I have to install QuickTime. I'm on a Mac FFS. I can't even check my email without it firing up QuickTime in the background. I did a system update check and there's nothing related to QuickTime. FFS. :x Friends don't let friends use quicktime. http://w...

Re: Using a Benchmark DAC1 USB as the sole audio interface?
Yes... and don't use the optical out on the iMac to the DAC1, you'll be at the mercy of the iMac internal audio as far as latency goes. I'd like to know what kind of latency you get on the output of that beast. I considered one at one point, but for price reasons, I opted for the Sound Devices USBpr...

Sounds like a small tambourine/jingle stick actually recorded, dirtied up, and looped.

On a somewhat related note(?), I know it gets all sluggish past a certain zoom ratio... It's always been that way for me.
