Can't get past step 6... anyone else have a similar problem/got any ideas like a special rebooting/reloading pattern?

I don't want to buy a bass guitar because i want to be able to solo and not have to switch instruments.
I could use massive or a midi routing technique to produce it but... How do i translate guitar signals into midi notes? I've seen it done before i just forget how. Also how much does massive cost ...

How do i drop by octave into the bass range? I'm trying to make a dubstep womp womp sound for my bass guitar, or any noise that will mesh with the dubstep sound, any suggestions?

I've hit a road block trying to design an ableton set to dj with (dubtep/electro). Mainly I can't figure out the best mapping for my apc40, and I really want a good effects rack to use but I'm no good at making my own (got ableton 4 months ago).
Anyone have any ideas or racks that they can share ...
