Re: Allow Max 4 Live to send sysex
I have a DSI evolver desktop control patch that makes creating new sounds for it actually fun (instead of laborious head scratching confusion) how nice would it be if I could integrate it into Live and mappable to any midi controller. Thats just one small example but there are so many hardware units...

Changing colour of a Live track
I want to create a device that emulates the red box in Session view with an APC40 in Arrangement. I figured what I would do is have Max4Live change all selected tracks colours to red or blue so at a glance I could see what is selected. Even though LOM navigator indicates there is a Color property it...

Midi thingie
I was wondering if anyone knew what this midi function does that I discovered today. I was using an APC40 and was mapping the knobs too macro controls and I noticed that at the bottom of Live I got this little dialogue that said Mapped to Channel CC: 1/20 Mode: and mode had a choice of Absolute, Rel...

Re: does LIVE drives licensing you nuts ? ... me to !
It is absolutely fine but I really really really wish that they could have some way of allowing you to request extra licences on the weekend. I tried to get one last Friday but apparently they are closed on Good Friday which means I can't use my new laptop to do a whole heap of recording today and t...

Confused about latency and drivers
I just bought a new Toshiba laptop and because I play soft synths live I've been experimenting with trying to get the lowest latency I can with the least drop outs. I use an M-Audio Fast Track Pro with the Windows 7 64bit drivers and got an output latency of around 6-7ms without crackles which I was...

APC 40 - light values
If you map a device on/off to a macro control then I think it would be really handy for the APC light to only be able to go from far right to far left without any inbetween like a switch. That way you'd have instant visual feedback as to what state the control is in. If you implemented this then you...

Re: Tricks with the APC40
True, did however try out the MLR hack and Muon hack and its very cool but more fun to do it in Live. At the moment I've been making lots of Random triggering clips and watching the pretty lights and using random and scale midi effects on operator for some nice sine wave music. Its also mildly amusi...

Re: Is this a joke? No midi-clip transpose?
You could put the midi effect note pitch onto each track and transpose using that. Certainly a lot easier than doing two hundred

Tricks with the APC40
Thought maybe people could share some of the interesting ways there using the APC40. Today I made a set that emulated the MLR program for the monome by reassigning the buttons so that the rows on the APC corresponded to the columns in the live set and using two rows to split the sample into sixteen....
