Re: M4L Devices forward compatibility - Live8 users left behind?

thanks for you advices. i own the full maxmsp prog and use max6 in live8 (32bit). (no glitches, meanwhile works fine) so i guess, there are objects specific to the live9 api? well, all is good, as long as all my devices developed in live8 with max6 will work in the live9 suite. still a shame, to com...

M4L Devices forward compatibility - Live8 users left behind?

Hi peeps, i am rather disappointed to see m4l development rushing ahead with awesome new devices being created that don't work in live8, but only live9. i can understand dropping support for old versions eventually, but this seems sadly way too early. i think there will still be a huge userbase of l...

Re: Will Live 8 64 Bit support M4L and Video?

i am much in favour of having an update to 64bit in live8 with m4l as well. stability between live and m4l has always been a major issue at least for me and i would hope, that people simply not being able to afford dishing out on live9 (yet...meh!) would still be able to at least get the benefit of ...

Re: Max 6 is out!

running any m4l device with max6 standalone works for me without crashing, yet is unusable since lives audio-engine coughs and rustles with what sounds like a constant buffer underrun. regardless of the buffer settings or whether i use an onboard soundcard or a firewire interface. back to max5

Re: Bugfix update 8.0.5 available

The usual request: it would be great if the installer didn't keep installing Live Packs for instruments I don't own. Since going through all the betas it's been over 12 times now that I've had to sit and wait and watch the installer install Analog, Collision, Electric, Tension, and then first thing...

Re: Edirol PCR 300 Drum pads w/ drum rack

although this thread is quite old, after fiddling for ages and searching the forum, i got a sort of solution for the drumrack and the pads, if anyone is interested: in the software editor of the pcr-300, assign the pads to output notes and choose the note that corresponds to the sampleslot in the dr...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

i was merely trying to prove, that the "lawless" situation you described does not exist. telling me "here it's the law / we have no law on xy" and then a response proving otherwise makes you go, "i'm not a lawer", ....well, interesting approach to convincing me. :) mayb...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

sorry, but i think you are plain wrongly informed about your own country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying (the graphic on bullying laws or the lack thereof under "school bullying" is quite interesting as well. ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_defamation_law http://www.exp...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

word IS action. what exactly do you think bullying does? you are aware, that lives are being broken because of words "only". saying something is a physical action. calumny is a offense. not in the states? i'd be surprised. "libel case" also jumps to mind as an example. how would ...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

the conclusion from all your comments is then, that all and everybody needs to accept all abuse, in it's fullest of psychological harm (which by the way has often been proven to have more impact and repercussions on a human being than physical violence). your arguments support the legitimisation of ...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

the thought, that speech had ever been absolutely free in terms of being non-affective to anything and therefore free - everything else would by logic not be free - is a mere illusion. the best example of this logical restriction of freedom being that bully case posted here. Laissez-faire has been p...

Re: Anonymous online taunters can be held accountable

what the fuck is this world coming to? Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, anybody can and SHOULD be allowed to say whatever the fuck they want wherever the fuck they want. the world is coming to a moral faux pas, whereas people confuse the term "allowed" with "must be practiced&...

Re: Richie Hawtin's at it again

i don't really understand how this is exciting in times when shoutcast & mp3 tag live delivery is ancient off-the-shelf technology.

is this for people to check the playing record on their phones while being at his gig?

no trolling intended. ...really don't get the point of use.

vst(i) hardware hosts

inspired by the "cool to get real synths" thread, i'd like to ask whether someone had experience with running a box like receptor or more interestingly (since cheaper), sm pro audios v-machine? of course i am especially interested in latencies using live as a sequencer and the stability of...
