drag and move the return tracks

just get the i7 model. you aren't going to get any big gains from the i9. i currently use the 6 core i7 model with the 8750h and it works incredibly. the i9 is too powerful to be cooled in the chassey the macbook pro has so you're not going to get any gains. it's definitely not worth it.

samsung t3 or t5 ssd are incredible performers for external sound libraries.

sometimes my drag and drop doesn't work but if i can use the copy and paste command by copying the WAV or MP3 itself, then selecting the audio track in ableton and then pasting it. sometimes i have to use this workaround sometimes i dont

dropbox doesnt interfere with ableton. can't speak for google drive.

if the project is very large make sure there isn't audio being sent to a send somewhere. also in rare cases ableton GUI can glitch and a manual restart of the computer is necessary to reset it.

i think you need to record, then bounce what you have recorded to a new track. i don't believe there is a solution to your problem when only using one track. once u turn sounds into audio with looper you need to put them into a new track with the input disabled

Well even all the cores and threads wont help if you max out just 1 of them and since they are on a track by track basis 100 odd tracks could do that.
