Re: VST3 Support!
Steinberg is doing away with VST2 completely. Late 2013 we announced that the Software Development Kit (SDK) for VST 2 would no longer be maintained and would only be available as subset of the VST 3 SDK. Five years down the line and this transitional phase is now also coming to an end. From October...

Duplicate library
I had Live Intro and purchased an upgrade to Live 8. When I installed the upgrade, it didn't replace the old library, but merged the two. In instances where the effect preset existed in the initial library, it duplicated it, so in my effects list for a reverb for instance, I now have ROOM and ROOM_1...

Re: Akai MPD and MPK pad mods - tips for better pad sensitivity
I just bought my MPD18 this last weekend. Everything I had seen so far was really positive on it, so I didn't think twice about buying it. I'm new to pads and stuff, so I really didn't know much about the sensitivity, but I did feel like I was hitting the keys a bit harder than I should be. While do...

Re: Ibanez electric guitar?
I'm a big fan of split coils. My S470 has a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom Termbucker in the bridge, a Pearly Gates in the neck and the stock single coil in the middle (which I'd like to replace at some point). The pick up selector is a five way switch. I can get a nice fat humbucker tone out of the b...

Re: Ibanez electric guitar?
Buying used is a good policy as long as you know what you're looking for. Most of my guitars were purchased used and I've never had problems with any of them. In your price range, I'd also consider a Schecter. They're good guitars that aren't over priced. I have two (Damien 6 and Hellraiser FR). The...

Re: getting best tone out of a shite guitar
Can you adjust your pickups at all? There should be a couple of screws next to them. Turning them one way will lower the pickup and vice versa. Bringing the pickups closer to your strings may help.

Re: skinny puppy, who's still a fan?
I too was a big industrial fan in high school. I listened to them a ton. Over the years my musical tastes have expanded, but these guys still have a pretty dominant spot in my library and regular rotation. And while I know it was quite a departure from their regular sound, I was a huge fan of The Pr...
