Re: External Instrument
So what is the difference from using the simple MIDI track and the External Instrument? I'm confused lol. Thanks for all the help btw The most important difference is that the External instrument connects the MIDI output port together with an audio input port, so that Live can do proper delay compe...

Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
never used soundforge but i keep hearing about it and seems to have a great following.. what's so good about it and make it better/different from other audio editors? It's just such a comprehensive and well thought-out audio editor. A ton of very high quality and useful effects, good batch processi...

Re: Playing live with Live
It's better to use audio clips when you can, because there's less load on the cpu and less to go wrong. On top of that it will be much less hassle to export the material from PT/Logic if you simply bounce it to audio.

that's not so far from their own account of what they did. what's a hoax about that? The colors really are different.

Re: Virus Ti 5.0.0.10-beta Installer Out Now
VC seems to behave better under Live with this version (5.0.0.10) than with earlier versions (4.5.3). (I'm on a Mac fwiw.) To be specific, the sync between Live and VC seems tighter, less variable, and doesn't react as badly to looping as the last version. Granted I need to give it more time; it mig...

Re: Grouping of Groups
I'm not saying I wouldn't like it. Just saying there are ways and means. sure. on consoles there were aux busses, and you just had to read the setting of every send pot on the board to figure out what was routed to it. and in Logic there are aux busses, and you just have to read the output setting ...

Re: Help with warping at beginning of songs
The next step is to delete the first Warp Marker that Live assigned at the beginning of the track. that's it! That works perfectly, even with the 1.1.1 thing, because I can simply pull back the left edge of the clip after deleting that marker. For some reason I've been treating that marker as sacre...

Re: Help with warping at beginning of songs
I must be doing something completely stupid, haha. I do exactly what you say: find the first kick, put a warp marker, and everything after the kick is warped just fine. I don't want the intro to play at a different tempo; I just want it to play at the same tempo as the rest but have the first kick l...

Help with warping at beginning of songs
Hi, There's an operation concerning warping that I've never been able to figure out. I have an audio file of a song that I want to warp, i.e., get the bars of Live to align with the bars of the song. If the beat (drums etc.) begins right at the beginning of the track this is easy: I put down a warp ...

Re: Grouping of Groups
But harder to read. Drum rack nesting (to any level) is great, and the proof is that it's used all over the library instruments and partner instruments. It would be nice to have the same thing for track groups.funken wrote:stick them in audio tracks, same difference

Re: Managing Samples - I don't want the clips . . .
If you have some flexibility about how your project is organized, then you might consider something like this: make all your clips in a single live set. then save the live set to a new folder (different project folder). At this point the project will have no samples in it. Now use collect-all-and-sa...

Re: Selfmastering for a liveshow?
remember that the main goal is that the level not change radically from song to song. if there's a secondary goal, it's that the spectral balance should not go out of whack when one of your own songs plays -- that is, the high frequencies should not be much more pronounced than in the other material...
