hmm... the problem seems to be the asio-driver of my soundcard or the chipset-driver for the cardbus.

I've to check this in detail...

but shouldn't live 5 tell me the real cpu-usage?

as I wrote above... with an empty set
directly after launching live 5 the cpu-usage increases to 30%.

Hmmm... there is no option to switch of speed stepping in the bios.
The energy-options in Windows are "always on". This worked fine for me up to now.

Is there a tool for switching speed stepping off if not possible in bios?

on my laptop Ableton Live 5 uses between 25% and 30% cpu-power... in standby... with an empty set.
The internal display for cpu-usage in Live says 0%.

So this seem to be two bugs... first to much cpu-usage and the second one that the internal display doesn't show up the really needed cpu-power ...
