Re: Why is this forum more active on weekdays than on weekends
What you call "getting high" is your body rejecting all the shit you are putting into it; your body has NO INTEREST in pleasure of ANY KIND. What you call pleasure is pain for the body because the body is trying to get RID of what you are doing to it. I can't respect someone who doesn't r...

You aren't deity-privileged to decide for your jerkoff self what laws you will and will not observe; the fact that you've gotten away with it before doesn't and never will make it okay, okay? Stop ratting yourselves out druggies; at least be smart about that So, I'm guessing you never speed 1 mile ...

Re: hihats suck
Get a cheap hi-hat set and record yourself playing those over your track. You'll get a much better 'live' feel to it than using MIDI. Each hit will be completely unique and you can quantize them later if need be.

Re: The easiest music theory thread ever for total beginners
Another nice trick is to use Dm w/ all white keys (D dorian) for a slightly different minor flavor than Am. It's probably my favorite key to write in. Also, using all white keys, and every other key for three keys will give you the following chords: C maj - I D min - ii E min - iii F maj - IV G maj ...

Re: linux?
The only possible advantage would be low OS overhead, but even that is debatable depending on what you need for your interface. After that you're losing a whole lot in terms of stability and features, not to mention a typically very involved setup process. Linux (especially ubuntu) is great if all y...

Re: Katy Perry Mixer - "Ableton sounded terrible" (SoundonSound)
Why not just scientifically confirm this through null tests?
Wait... it's been done before?
And the output was exactly the same given the same input?
How could this possibly be? This guy is a PRO and says that what has been scientifically proven is wrong... how can this be?

Re: Performing live with a drummer
Without a doubt the best way to handle this is to send your drummer a click. I've been doing it for 3 years now and it's the easiest way to bring a live drummer into your production.

I'd upgrade the Ram to 4GB and install a 2nd, bigger hard drive. Other than that you should be ok.

Re: Any programmers here?
Programmer here... one thing to realize is that if you're looking to learn programming the language means very little. Yes, there are little things about each one and knowing one language extensively has its pluses, however, in general if you know how to program you should be able to program in almo...
