Re: stubhub has taken ticket scalping to the extrememe!!!!!!!
i always thought a band rents out the venue and charges what they want. the issue for me is pre sales or internet sales. there wouldn't be as much of a problem with ticket scalping if they just sold tickets at the door. like i already said though bands dont lose out when it comes to ticket scalping...

Re: Bass sample packs
Make 'em yourself. Way more satisfying and configurable. Do you have Operator or Analog? I've been making them myself for a while and apart from the occasional preset tweak for some leads or arp sounds, it's all 'from scratch' synthesis. I am keen to try out some samples to map as a bass octave to ...

Re: stubhub has taken ticket scalping to the extrememe!!!!!!!
Back to legalized ticket scalping. It's fucked IMO. Florence tickets were sold out around here and the cheapest ticket was $200 for the worst seats. $500 for floor and $1000 for the first 5 rows... per ticket. Almost every band that plays around here sells out within a couple weeks and then tickets ...

I hardcode my SL w/my most used effects and tracks while my APC is the dynamic one to control a parameter outside of those most used controls. Works well for what I need.

Re: Live Looping Guitar with Ableton Issues, Advice appreciated
interesting, this seems like it should do the trick actually. How would I go about getting the signial in my PC? Would I send the xlr from this into my interface then? And would humming be an issue when I return the signal from my interface to my amp? I would not be able to use xlr for return, maby...

humming: this is because the line out of your interface vs using a mic out. I believe the line out is carrying a bit of electricity which causes this (someone may need to correct me on this). To convert it get a DI, I use this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/live-wire-solutions-spdi-pa...

The thinkpad edge e325 is a nice machine but you're definitely NOT getting what "us Mac users," are getting for half the price. Theres just a solid feel and an indescribable awesomeness to a Mac!! CANNOT be emulated or built at home. But if your claim makes you feel better about not buyin...

Re: don't worry, dubstep is now officially dead
Media should try and revIve the "grunge" fashion to the step scene just for shits and giggles. Don't pretend for a second that grunge won't make its way back... late 60's -> hippy 70's -> flare jeans & disco 80's -> skinny jeans & stretch pants 90's -> grunge late 90's -> hippies ...

Re: VSTi's or Ableton instruments?
I like both, but could not live w/out suite. You can make super CPU hungry sounds that push the edge of your computer processing power, freeze a 16 bar C note, then drag that super hungry sound right into sampler. Bam... now the sound you created can be recreated at a fraction of the CPU cost. Then ...

Re: How do I finally make my music sound "professional"??
Listen to the small things in the 'pro' tracks. I'm always finding little things they do that make the track sound more alive. Swooshes, little bleeps and bloops, tape distortion, how they build up, how they tear down, etc... Listen intently and write down everything you hear and if it's not in your...

Original Novation 25SL, I absolutely love mine, have had it for almost 3 years now, toured w/ it, and still use it as a staple to my live setup. Great little keyboard. Semi weighted keys too!

... it makes you a soldier, something nearly everybody can do. You aren't special. one could argue that folks who make comments like this are prime examples of those who couldn't be soldiers, at least not good ones ;).
