Another confirmation. I actually used to run Live via Parallels and pointed the Windows Live to the Library on the Mac side.

I think it's very telling that Ableton's in-house synths, Operator and Sampler, are lauded as awesome while the ones outsourced to AAS are not getting much love.

I find use with all of them, but Operator and Sampler are definitely my favorites

I use Audio Hijack Pro ($30) to record files that I later drop onto audio tracks. I didn't buy it for that, but it's quick and easy to set up.

Live does not wrap 32-bit plugins to 64-bit.

JBridge is available for Windows and Mac if you want to run 32-bit plugins in a 64-bit host, and Live32 will create pre-wraped 64-bit AUs on Mac.

But again, Kontakt 4 is definitely 64-bit, so just update it ...

I don't even own/use a keyboard. Push works out a lot better for me and takes up so much less space

I often run Live 9 Suite on a 1.3GHz dual core i5 (2013 MacBook Air w/ 8GB of RAM). It runs better than you'd think. I can run a couple instances of Reaktor Razor on HQ and Audio Damage's Eos reverb and be okay at 512 on the buffer (built-in sound, 24-bit 44.1kHz). 50% on the CPU meter iirc.

as of today, ableton is hitting cpu peaks really easily. i mostly use ableton plugins, i sample hardware using the external instrument plugin, so most of my stuff is samples. i have one track using a korg m1 plugin. why would ableton slow down sooo much all of a sudden?

OS X 10.9.1 may have fixed the external display issues of 10.9, but I haven't verified this myself. I know on 10.9 as soon as you changed the external display from mirrored desktop (default) to extended desktop, it no longer recognizes displays that you connect.

Ash1 just email Ableton support, they just asked for a pic of my Push and seemed to be willing to hook me up with a copy of the calibration tool once it's verified.

I already did. Johannes answered this morning, asked for a pic of my Push (it's not yet registered with Ableton), and seems to be willing to give me a copy of the RGB Tool

Konkrete Breaks and Drums show up when I browse Drum Racks. I didn't look and see what is mapped to the knobs, though. I can check tonight if no one chimes in.
