Re: Is it possible to midi map the clip start point?

Yes. Just enter MIDI map mode (apple+M/ctrl+M) and on the notes/sample box for the clip select the start field (the one usually showing [1][1][1], then move the knob. The only setback is that it is fixed to 1 bar steps.

Re: How to put newly recorded audio samples into library?

In the file/folder preferences turn on the "collect samples on export" preference.

When you drag the clip to the browser Ableton will then create the ".alc", but also a ".wav" in a subfolder. Then just delete the Live clip and move the Wave file wherever you want.

Re: Mapping the Axiom 49 to work with Live 8

Honeydont...thank you much. I did the set up ok...but I will try some of those other steps as well...much appreciated. So the deal is that you have to recall those presets to work the different Ableton parameters, right? Maybe you can help with this. When I pull up a drum kit...the pads are assigne...

Re: Mapping the Axiom 49 to work with Live 8

Hi, my setup includes an Axiom 49 and it works perfectly with Live 8. Let's go over some setup steps and try to figure out what you're missing. First of all, in Ableton's preferences under the MIDI Sync tab, you have to select the "Axiom 49 61 Classic" as your control surface, setting its input to U...

Re: Combining midi tracks

If you're using the same instrument for both tracks, you can create a third MIDI track with that same instrument, delete the instrument from the previous tracks, route their "MIDI To" to the 3rd track and record it. Then you'll have a single (exportable) MIDI clip with both hands. Does this help?

NEW Novation Nocturn mapping for Live 8

Check the Novation site for what seems to be a cool map for nocturn (finally!!!!) Doesn't solve the incomprehensible absence of automap support in Live, but tends to help a lot. The link is here: http://www.novationmusic.com/community/startdownloadfile=Nocturn_RS4L.zip?token=e279f0d942a499412ed4c575...

Selecting devices with M-Audio Axiom

Is there a way I could assign a MIDI message to a button on the M-Audio Axiom 49 to navigate devices in any given track?

My FaderPort navigates through devices, so in theory it's possible...

Thanks a lot!
