Re: Cadence and form (and leading tone)

Cadence to form is like punctuation to a paragraph or chapter. The clearer the punctuation, the clearer the meaning of the content.

Cheers!

Please take midi automation out of the clip.....

.....and put it into track automation so there's no distinction. Being limited to 32nd note accuracy in a clip without the benefits of nodes and curves is clumsy and archaic at best. See Bitwig Studio and Digital Performer for nice solutions to the problem.

Thanks.

Editing multiple tracks at once in the midi editor.

I can't come back into the Ableton family until this happens. Studio One, Digital Performer, Bitwig Studio and Cubase can do this.

Please make Ableton Live a better DAW, as I don't use it for performance. I couldn't care less about Push or the session view.

Thanks.

Re: Film Music Production Workflow

Hi LTM Ableton Live is not a good choice for producing traditional film music, especially if that music has many midi tracks and virtual instruments. Live's midi capabilities are not advanced enough, and you cannot see multiple tracks at the same time in the midi editor. Digital Performer, Cubase, a...

Bitwig Studio looks amazing!!!

I'm definitely buying it on March 26th, and I'm looking forward to the features that Ableton never implemented. I'm not saying I'm abandoning Live, but I know that I will be spending a good deal of time putting Bitwig thru it's paces. May the best DAW win.

Cheers, everybody!

Re: Bitwig 1.0

I'm definitely interested in getting Bitwig Studio. It will have something that Live doesn't -- being able to see multiple tracks in the MIDI editor -- and that's a necessity for me when it comes to composing "note against note". I'm not hopeful that Ableton will ever implement this featur...

Re: Is anyone creating orchestral music with Live?

Not many, I guess, but I kind of expected that. Ableton is not really the best platform.

It's too imprecise in its current state.

Watch the Live 9 and Push preview event.....

The video is accessed from the main Ableton web page in the bottom righthand corner.

At least for me, it changed my opinion as to how groundbreaking Live 9 and Push really are. VERY NICE.

No "surround sound" support, huh?

As much as I'm looking forward to the enhancements the Abes have made to Live 9 (they are quite nice), I have to admit they really haven't addressed many of our hopes and requests (i.e. 5.1, multiple monitor support). Perhaps Ableton has no interest in making Live competitive with other DAWs. By the...

I'm a little disappointed in Live 9.....

I was hoping to be able to edit multiple parts in the MIDI editor like Studio One and the upcoming Bitwig Studio. That would make composing (in the traditional sense) a lot easier. I already knew that notation would be out of the question, but being able to see and edit multiple parts would be a dec...
