Re: Dithering question
You shouldn't worry about dithering too much. In a nutshell.. - You need it when you are rendering your projects from higher bitrates to lower (f.e. 32 -> 16bits) Dithering can also be undesired. I would suggest always work with the highest possible rate, and after the very final stages (usually lim...

Re: THE BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9
GUI: Although I love the simplicity in Ableton's GUI, it is beginning to feel a little dated, it would be nice if there was just a little 3d action in there The simplicity's fine, but i think the main issue is: When browser, effects bar and channel infos open, the workspace is shrunk to 1/4 of the ...

Re: THE BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9
I completely agree with the dual screen support. The GUI is too busy as it is. It would be also nice to see some skinnable choises for the GUI, for maybe a bit more futuristic look. This really affects the workflow and creativity. Also, some kind of exiter would be nice too, as well as transient des...

Re: is it possible to really cut below 30Hz with EQ8?
In my opinion, that's a good thing to do, since those freaquenzies in the very most cases really just don't make sense musicaly. If you kick them out you have more room for what really sounds in the mix. With all due respect to artistic freedom, one should know what on is doing. Most of the pa's do...

Re: Omnisphere , I think I might buy you.
I actually prefer Atmosphere, the Omnisphere is just too massive. It's good to start a song with if you're looking for some really exotic sounds and make combinations of very weird sound sources. It sounds top notch, as you might expect. Some cons: - Heavy & Slow as f*ck - At least in Ableton 7 ...

Re: Master Inserts?
Couple of things (in this order): - Ableton autofilters (HP/LP - cut ~40 Hz -> 19 kHz, Q set to .70) - Ableton EQ Eight , Flux Epure, or Sonalksis DQ1 (which has built in dynamics) - Izotope Ozone 4 . Stereo Imaging: Everything under 180hz -> mono, some spread on the highs. EQ with the EQ itself cur...

Re: whats the best sample editor to get?
Wavelab is the default.
Soundforge and almost all the other editors I've tried are pretty clumsy compared to WL. It doesn't work on my CPU for some reason, so I use Acoustica Premium, which is quite similar.
