Thats like a step backwards :? i read other plugins give problems in v6 as well  .. normally an upgrade should FIX problems, dont you agree? were you beta testers drunk and stoned during testing? :o Funny thing is, the Renneq still works. ...

My Waves plugs worked fine until I upgraded to Live 6. Now my RennEQ UI won't open. Other plugs like the RennComp work fine, but I'm bummed because the RennEQ was probably my most used plug.

MIDI Octave Designation Systems The MIDI (Musical Instrument Device Interface) standards unfortunately do not designate octaves. The standard merely designates that Middle C is note number 60. Thus, MIDI users have had to create their own designation systems using the MIDI numbering system. Underst...

Middle c

Stupid question here...is Middle C in Ableton c3 or c4. I'm assuming c3 given that it shows a c0 in the piano roll. The reason I'm asking is that I want to use a Yamaha digital piano as an 88-key weighted controller. It has no transpose function and transmits Middle C on c3 rather than the more stan...

Come to think of it, I have heard of some people having luck by setting the ADAT input to none (I think) when it is unused. Can't remember where I read this, but might be worth a try.

Also, check out unicornation.com. It's a MOTU user forum where people are pretty helpful.

Returned mine for the same reason. This is a common problem with Windows machines, particularly those running SP2. Downloading the firewire hotfix from Microsoft, helped a little, but the problem would not completely dissapear. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885222. Also, make sure you are using a ...

Tube preamp plugin

This was just released and looks kinda interesting in a hit or miss sorta way. Could be just another tube simulator, though. http://www.mcrow.net/Preamp%20Emulator%20VST.htm Anyone try it yet? I may have to download the demo tonight. It would be nice to get some decent (and cheap) tube preamp simula...

Also a former Cubase VST user. I didn't get it at first either. It took me a while, but one day it "clicked." I haven't looked back since. I actually now have a copy of SL3 that I never touch. The trick for me was working through a few songs from start to finish. Once I adjusted to the Liv...

impOSCar

Ok, at the risk of starting yet another softsynth thread... I loaded up a newly purchased impOSCar last night and...wow!!! It sounds phenomenal. I threw on some CamleSpace and couldn't believe my ears. Man, I can see this finding its way into a lot of my tracks. Anyway, it's got to be one of the bes...

it doesn't have a midi connection.. i'll probably get it seeing as they have finally released an interface i can afford. Actually, I think the new interface does have a 1x1 Midi I/O (based on the description I read on the site of an online retailer). Wow, I'm bummed. I purchased an 828mkii a little...

Don't forget to look at PCI (if desktop) or cardbus interfaces (if on laptop). They still perform as good and usually better than FW or USB. There was a good article in Sound on Sound a couple of months ago talking about the pros and cons of each format. It was a roundtable discussion with manufactu...

Anyone know whether this issue has been fixed? I'm thinking of getting MasterQ but it's a no go if it doesn't work with Live.

FWIW, the folks at Audiomidi are great. I started buying from them about six months ago and have had a really good experiences. (I used to buy stuff at a great B&M place here in DC -- Chuck Levin's -- but the convenience of buying over the phone is just too great) Audiomidi has been a good subst...

I am a Guitar Rig/Live user. I don't use the new Rig Kontrol, so I can't comment on latency. That said, it is great sounding software. The interface is really easy to use and the models and effects sound great -- not just on guitars either. That said, my one word of caution is that GR is extremely C...
