I am absolutely experiencing this problem also.

I have a live set with several instances of Nexus and Vanguard Synths from ReFX. Whenever I choose the scene launch buttons the UI locks up. I observed similar issues when choosing Apple + Q (the ui frees up) but unfortunately the UI does not consistently free up. I need to relaunch live to restore ...

Thank you!

Thanks everyone! This is excellent, lots of stuff for me to try. A lot of the ideas are exactly what I'm looking for. Ideally I'd like to be able to configure a plug in that I can throw on a track that I can change the parameters of (master or any other) channell during the breakdown right before ...

Microtrack ...

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I just received my Microtrack in the mail. Having investigated the device I think I should be able to use the s/pdif output on my Audiophile to record directly to the s/pdif on the Microtrack. The advantages to this that I can see are:

- Don't need to worry ...

I haven't actually seen what he does, but I had been thinking of creating some white noise with Operator and adding some effects to it. Thanks, I'll check out some recent live sets from Junkie XL and see if I can get some ideas ...

FX to accentuate a build-up ...

Hi,

I'm looking for some decent plugins or Ableton effects, or chaining of effects, that would help me add some extra spice to a build up. At risk of quoting someone that I believe utilizes effects such as these quite well, similar to what Sasha does to accentuate a break down.

I'm not looking for ...

Recording your DJ set ...

Hi,

I've been doing some searching in the forum and didn't quite find the answer I've been looking for, so I'm going to post my own.

Some background ... I've been using Ableton now for almost 8 months. I play out with it every weekend. So far, no problems, everything has been going fantastic ...

the links are dead ...

I contacted the site and asked if they would be restoring the links after the move, I didn't receive confirmation on whether or not this would happen. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

transitional sound effects/samples ...

Hi.

I was wondering where the best place is to find transitional sounds, sounds that can be played between mixes. The kinds of sounds I'm thinking of are swooosh sound effects, or some other cool sweep sounds. Typically these are the kind of sounds that accompany the end of a break down to add ...

Thanks for all the info guys. I FINALLY figured it out. This is going to be huge for me. I'm going to be playing some ecletic sets where large tempo jumps will be needed. As I'll more than likely just cut between tracks rather than doing some kind of mixing where tempo differences are sometimes 40 ...

Ok, I figured it out. Sorry for the confusion guys. It's my stupidity. I had some confusion about what a clip and a scene and chanel were. I went back and re-read the manual again for clarification.

Thank you both for the info, I really appreciate it!

Hi guys,

Thank you both for the replies, this clarifies things for me somewhat. Now if I could only get it to work.

I just gave it a shot, renaming the scene itself and launched the clip but for some reason the tempo did not change.

Here's what I did, I selected the scene and hit CTRL + E to ...

renaming clips ...

HI,

I've been trying to get the 'rename clip' feature to work in Live 4. When I select a clip, drag it to the scene and try to perform CTRL + E to rename the clip nothing happens. I can rename the clip in the browser by doing this but can't rename it in the scene view. Does anyone have any idea why ...

Actually, maybe not, I just checked the version of the manual that I have and it says Live 4. The manual talks about this being possible so there must be some setting or something in my scene view that's not on ...

Oh my bad sorry. I though it was applicable to Live 4 as well. That would explain why I can't get it to work.
