Re: Using external gear + other tracks with Monitor 'In'
What are you using for an audio interface? Generally, when working with hardware instruments (particularly in Ableton Live), you wanna leave track monitoring OFF, and use your interface's direct monitoring capabilities instead. Not only do you run the risk of the phasing issues you described when yo...

Re: camelaudio website gone, forgot to download software/soundba
Hmm... This kind of ties into that other thread about third party plugins in general: what guarantee do we have that any of our plugins will still work a couple of years down the road? Is this fear supposed to deter us from making music altogether? I guess, if you want to feel safer, you should alw...

Re: camelaudio website gone, forgot to download software/soundba
Well, also a good moment to start new productions without alchemy/camel audio plugs and never update old productions on a future laptop;) Cool as Alchemy is, I think I've only used it in a single finished track, so not a huge loss there. However, I've used CamelSpace on nearly every track I've done...

Re: Why only keyboard players need 61 key controller?
Does it make sense to spend extra $100 on Kontrol 61 versus K 49. I had a slim 49-key controller on my desk for years, because my workspace was so cramped I couldn't physically fit anything bigger on the desk. A few weeks ago I cleared up a bunch of desk space by mounting my computer monitors on th...

Re: Ughhh latency issues any help appreciated
I agree it would be helpful to know the specific DAC/interface, sample rate, and buffer size you're currently using, but just as a stab in the dark, the most common latency issue Ableton Live users have when recording mics or other external sources is that they try to monitor through the DAW when re...

Re: Need HELP with Audio crackling & drop out.
Recently I've been experiencing massive audio crackling and drop out with Live 9.1.7 When I set my buffer size to 128, the session samples start to crack and drop out which is annoying :x but if I set my buffer size to 256 it doesn't drop out but there is a slight noticeable latency when recording ...

Re: Latency Problems When Recording
Hi all, Basically I am running Ableton on Windows 7, 64 bit, fairly powerful laptop... But I cant seem to get rid of the latency when recording vocals. When I try to record over the beat, there's a terrible delay. I have tried everything I know of to lose the delay, and this is now becoming a huge ...

Re: Does Live limit the number of multi-out plugin channels?
Not sure about the Kontakt limitation, but the UVI looks right. Keep in mind that the channel/track with the instance of your VSTi uses the first set of outputs. Therefore, you cannot assign them to any other channels/tracks, which is why they're not listed. Yes, the MIDI track that hosts the plugi...

Does Live limit the number of multi-out plugin channels?
This is something I've run into at different times with both Live 8 and 9, and I was never sure whether it was a limitation of Live or something I'm just not doing right. I'm running 64-bit Windows with 64-bit Live 9. It appears that Live only lets you access a maximum of 16 total output channels fr...

Haha, you dodged a bullet there, and didn't even realize it.Amanuel wrote:I went with RMI babyface. I was about to buy the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6, but went with the babyface because of the extra input/outputs even though I dont need them now, might be good for the future!

Re: One shot fx, risers, transitions etc
Do you guys prefer to concentrate on these once your arrangement is complete or do you work on these as you are developing your track and arrangement? ... Is there a preferred method you use when it comes to these details? Before I even begin tracking anything, I plot out the structure of the song ...

Re: UR44 vs 44VSL audio interface
I don't have experience with Presonus interfaces, although I've seen a lot of complaints about their entry-level model (22VSL) on other forums, but I don't know the specifics. I actually own the UR44's little brother, the UR22- and that's one of the best USB interfaces you can get for under $200. So...

Re: VST's that emulate analog synths
1). Are you saying that: If the timbre of an instrument running Diva, tweaked to be as close to emulating a particular analog synth sound as possible, with all the controlled variables, in the right hands, would trump most listeners who were tasked with discerning one from the other? At the end of ...

Re: Made the jump to 64-bit.. Aaand nothing changed.
..Except for the loading screen that is. I've barely noticed any difference at all. What were you expecting, other than being able to access more RAM? And why? Since I'd read that there was potential for 64-bit to perform better (at least on Windows), I did some benchmarking between 32-bit and 64-b...

Re: PC USERS: What DAW are you using in addition to Live?
Cubase.
Excellent sample editing, built-in "auto tune", SysEx, VST3 support, solid bundled plugins.
Actually I use Cubase for most serious projects, because of the above. I use Live more for experimentation and making tutorials/presentations.
