Re: Max For Live (demo) devices not showing up for me
As with any demo of Live packs, you will need to start Ableton Live up in demo mode. To do this, go to Live Preferences->User Account/Licenses and select 'Show all products at startup'.
Restart Live and you should see the devices appear in the Live Device Browser.

Re: New MFL API features sneak peek videos!
No offense taken! Its a great feature, and an important distinction to make. But, again, to clarify, you cannot save mappings with regular presets, they get saved with the set. Rack presets are a special case - they are a little different than a normal preset file.

Re: New MFL API features sneak peek videos!
Hi Hoffman, You are correct with regards to mappings within Rack presets - they will be persistent across sets. This is an (albeit important) exception that we didn't mention in this video. In general, persistence of IDs are Set specific. For example, if you create a preset, and then place it in ano...

Its not totally clear to me exactly what you are seeing. A simple example with some steps to reproduce would be helpful.

Re: adding new max objects.
Third party objects just need to be somewhere in Max's search path. If you plan on distributing a device that uses a third party object, be sure to include the object in your distro or freeze the device.

Anything you could do to narrow down the problem would be helpful. A simple device with some steps to repro would be great.

Re: Private coll names in multiple abstracts
couldn't you just add the '---' prefix plus whatever name you want in each abstraction box? like [myAbstraction ---blahblah], [myAbstraction ---whahwhah]?

Re: Can I scale and change font size destructively?
You can select everything in the patch and then under Object->Show Fonts, you can change the font and size that is used by all selected objects. This won't get subpatchers, so you could open your patcher in a text program and do a find/replace for all "fontsize" : x, or something similar. ...

Re: saving the state umenu items
Lets clarify. It is correct that if all the OP wants to do is send a single integer to umenu (setting the position), the other two examples will work just fine. The OP mentioned he wanted to save the "state/contents". If you are not using the prefix attribute (which is a file path) with au...

ah, maybe I didn't understand what you wanted to do. In yours the contents of the umenu will not be saved when closing/reopening the set.
