Re: Alesis Control Pad
I have the Alesis Control Pad, the easiest way to make it work is to make a drum rack and re-map the control pad's midi notes or move the drum sound to the pad being triggered. It probably works very similar in Kontrol. Good Luck!

Re: Presonus Studio Live... anyone have experience?
I have been using the StudioLive 1642 for a little over a year now. It's a great board! We record live and I use it for my primary studio interface. StudioOne is pretty slick to, not putting Ableton down or anything. You can use it with almost every DAW out on the market! Just a tip, you can reroute...

Re: New MIDI controller - erase old MIDI presets?
Make sure the browser is open and click on map midi button in the top right. Everything that is mapped should show in the browser. But if it is controller based you'll need to look up user remote scripts. I'm sure they are out there if you don't have one for the LPD8.

Re: Apple new hour long speak.....cloud computing?
When you look how technology was derived it essentially was a cloud to start with. Late 60/Early 70s - Applications ran off a mainframe server aka Server Side (Essentially a Could) Computers progressed with faster processors and more memory this resulting into applications residing on their computer...

Re: Output routing through Audio8DJ into 4 active speakers...?
You could do it by routing....Create a new audio track set the Input to Master and set the Output to Ext Out 3/4. And set the main out to 1/2. Or you could split the master output? There is always more than one way to skin a cat!

Final output mono or stereo on stage with stereo system?
I have always been tossing this in the back of my mind but I would like to see what everyone else is doing. Output mono or stereo on stage? From out in the crowd it would not truly sound right unless you were in-between the two speakers. I still use stereo mixes for the final output but I try not to...

Re: Select clip for playback without launching, possible?
You could do this with midi mapping. You will need to create new midi track and enable remote under preferences. I recommend watching this video. It should get the ball rolling.

Re: NES controller for ableton?
It would take a lot of work on your part but you can follow this tutorial to make it a USB Controller. Then you could write an AutoHotKey script to capture the hash -> convert them to key stokes -> key map to Ableton. It'd make an awesome scene controller!

Re: How do you make your live set seamless?
Here is how I maintain our live set full of backing tracks, light control, clicks, and queues! It is fully documented here at my website. The set is not completely finished but you can get the drift of the workflow. http://www.trentcurtis.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Ableton-Closed.jpg Neatly Grou...

Any sync app should do it. I am on Windows and I use SyncToy from Microsoft.
