I'm using 8.0.9 on the Macbook I use in the live rig, care of the installer disc that came with the Novation Launchpad. I have 8.1 on my main production tower, but I only use that to write music, and then render stems and loops to port to the Macbook to set up in that ALS. I've used 8.0.9 for a few ...

Keep it simple. Create a Drum Rack or Impulse with just a kick on it (or duplicate what you have already). Mute the channel and rename it "KEY". Drag it out across the entire song. Done. Now throw a Compressor on the specific sample or channel you want to be subject to the sidechain compression ...

[8b 11] CTRL Drag doesnt copy new notes in piano roll?
Is this a change in Live 8, or a bug? Windows OS, note view in Piano Roll (admiring the new note naming!) and selecting a note or group of notes and holding CTRL to drag a copy no longer seems to work.

Absolutely... Ableton would nail it too. Vocoding is a simple principle but harder to do well, due to the many nuances and desires of vocoder outcomes. As far as hardware goes, i dont much like the Novation Supernova style, but love the far out possibilities as displayed by the preset vocoders on ...

You can always just buy one and use it in tandem with Ableton. Theres always something to be said about utilising different interfaces and equipment to acheive different results by virtue of control nuances.
