What if you want to control more than one plugin at a time via automap? then you're better off using traditional midi mapping. the live automap template leaves the 8 rotary pots free for this kind of mapping, or otherwise you could create a user template. but the SL doesn't respond to midi feedback...

i use a spare button on my logitech mouse mapped to ctrl+b. couldn't live without it!

the other buttons are mapped to tab, shift+tab, zoom in, zoom out, and the hand tool (for panning around the arrange window).

+1 for this. perhaps there could also be an option to show the plugin window for which ever track is highlighted? i know this can be done by enabling multiple plug in windows and auto hide, but this doesn't work properly with the "automap follows focus" option of the novation SL automap so...

have you tried contacting future publishing? they usually have back issues on sale for up to a year back.

i'm on a mac pro 10.4. the only real glitch i've noticed is when using the sl to change presets on some vsts (e.g. predator), there's a short glitch in the master out. but i don't know if that's automap related. i guess you already checked your midi ports setup in live to rule out some kind of feedb...

please fix this! i just bought a sl37 which is great for controlling my vsts, but it's crippled because half the parameters can't be recorded in live.

hi it's possible to select the rack via Macki Control Emulation : hey circuitb, which ports on the SL are you using for the mackie emulation? according to the SL documentation, ports 1, 2 & 3 are all reserved for the host automation / automap automation. which only leaves the external midi port...

Look's like Novation may have finally got it right on this one. 8 automapped rotary encoders with BCR style LED rings, a cross fader and a speed dial. The on-screen HUI makes sense, as does the price.
