Re: So...Live doesn't send MIDI note off?

macrostructure is correct.
it _could_ be possible for the sequencer to send a note off message when a note end is reached, regardless if there was a note on before or not.

i guess this makes a good entry for the never ending wish list...

Re: An idea about full-lenght albums. What do you think?

i personally like the concept of an album very much, but at the same time enjoy the convenience of being able to choose which ever track i'd like to hear. having one single track feels a bit demanding, unless it really is one long track. there are not many albums out there which i really like to lis...

Re: Noise/Crackle when arming/disarming tracks

... long story. short version: Live tries to optimize the latency when recording. When arming a track, it reduces the latency for that track . Depending on the plugins you use in the sends, this can cause audible jumps in the signal. The strict latency compensation option bypasses this function. The...

Re: The meaning of "Brown henke (dither) ?

from wikipedia: 'brown henke dither' is a special type of spectral distributed n-tuple noise used mainly in digital audio workstations for dithering purposes. It adds a +47.3db noise signal to a soundfile, which as a result reduces the information and therefor any potential error in the composition ...

Re: Noise/Crackle when arming/disarming tracks

search the forum for the key words 'option.txt', create such a file, put it where it belongs and add this magic line of text in that text file:

-StrictDelayCompensation

i am quite sure it will solve your problem.

Re: If I am going to be mastering a track in Ableton...

Technology is overrated here. The compressors and EQs you use count for 10% of the result. The most important factor is experience and a clear idea of what 'mastering' actually implies and what you want to achieve with it and why. The other real big factor is your listening environment. Nothing but ...

Re: Why Analog..oh why do you..

The OSC's are free-running sure, but it would be great if the phases didnt start their free-running until i hit the keys, so the sound always sounded as when i created it. Sorta defeats the purpose of free-running oscs... real analog fansconsider that one of the great things about analog, after all...

Re: spooky voices

Spectral processing. Granular resythesis. Reverse reverbs. Maybe some frequency shifting and pitch shifting (2 very different things). I think the spectral processing and granular resynthesis will get you 90% there. I use GRM Tools and/or my Eventide mainly for this sorta stuff. Using a Kyma would ...
