e-drums/push 2/live

Just looking for people's experience with e drums and ableton. I've always played drums but never e-kit and am thinking about buying one if experiences are postitive. It seems simple enough but just wanted to hear real world experiences cause skies the limit if they integrate seamlessly together. Th...

adding effects on specific drum pads via push only

So I'll have a drum kit set up. Doing beats on the fly. I simply wanted to add effects on a pad and not the entire kit without having to touch the computer. I hit select and the closed HH as to not add to the step seq. Then I did the add device ->audio-> delay and it adds the effect at the end of th...

Re: NI Maschine Sale!!!

You think AKAI is more trustworthy? never gave it much thought really. The only AKAI product I ever owned has been an APC40, and the lack of documentation and/or editor dont give me much to hope for. It's no secret tat akai is going to have to really step up with the Ren as far as softwar...

Good luck with all that funken. If ya haven;t looked already, medicinal foods and veg juicing can offer a lot relief for most problems. Really sorry to hear Leadsquietman had passed. I liked that dude a lot. yep, the right diet and exercise will really help, e.g. swimming, yoga, tai chi. you gotta ...

Re: Installing beta

same issues here. I did just did a fresh install of win 7 on a laptop to clean out some old issues. I can get 8.3.3 to work fine but I still can't get the beta to open yet.

dumb question but do you have to download 8.4b1 first, because I noticed that the file on 8.4b2 was much smaller

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

I just think people are grossly overestimating how popular this bitwig thing is going to be. Who are their customers? People who are dissatisfied enough with Live, that they will make the switch to a copycat program, that also happens available for linux. The Logic producer is not about to use this...

On win 7 64 home with live 8.27 komplete 6 reason 6.5 and everything works fairly well together.

Nothing is perfect but live has come along way from it's initial release

I'll upgrade to live 9 about 6 months after it's release when they start putting it on sale for upgrade

Re: Apple @ WWDC 2012 new product line up announcements!

Mac pro gets a slight update before they kill it off. No usb 3.0, no thunderbolt, no new graphics, just a slight bump in Cpu and some price reductions on choices. what a joke. They'd be better off killing if off like the 17 MBP than just letting it limp along. New MBP have some good features. USB 3....

Re: OT: Martial Arts - My new Keep Fit

I did Tae Kwon Do for years when I was younger, really enjoyed it. Lately I've been doing more yoga, which is something I never thought I'd get into. Great stretching and strengthening, and I was surprised how it reminded me of martial arts. My legs are too trashed fro distance running any more :( ...

I love FMA. Eskrima is a very deep and complicated art. I feel that it is very important to be able to hold your own in a knife fight or close quarters situations. It also incorporates rhythm as an important aspect of the art.

Always respect those who train no matter what art they choose to follow

This is a great way to look at it. I'd also argue that there is only one ableton live. Now they just need to step up to the challenge and remain ahead of the innovation curve.

Re: CONTEST: Can you recreate this track?

Hello! In my effort to master what I feel is the most difficult genre to master - roots reggae - I'm curious if anybody here could take the time to recreate this track? Hugh Mundell (1962-83) & Augustus Pablo (1954-99) - Jah Will Provide I mean, I can easily do electronic, dance, hiphop and the...

Re: Live 8.3 FTW!

Anyone else finding the timing unusual? It's like they wanted to buy some more time before releasing Live 9 and these were the easiest to implement in 8 so that they could keep us happy for a bit longer. They can buy all the time they want. I still hope that we go all the way to 8.5 and get more fe...

Re: my modest live 9 prediction

People who want Ableton to have things other 'DAWS' have will just turn a unique environment into another bland utilitarian work space. I don't want that. I have tons of other 'DAWS' for that. Ableton has already gone down this road. It try to be all things to all people. Hopefully they will refocu...

Re: Upgrade to Ableton 8 or wait?

I can hardly remember what Live 8 brought to the table. Sound on sound looping. Vocoder. Multiband compression. Easier creation of sub mixes with group tracks. Nothing game changing. Some handy stuff though. Bad looper, bad vocoder, awful multi band, amp is worse than line 6 in reason and that is s...
