Re: dB Peak Level Meter in Arrangement View

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the dB meter in Session View that measures peaks. Check threads: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=164336 https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=208259 https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=154756 It's not ju...

Copy All Track Information To New Channel In One Shot

Hi, A friend is working on a project & wants to copy information from one track to another. He has two versions of the same mix and wants to compile them into a single version. So, he has two instances of "Track One" running, and wants to splice a part of one version into the other. Ho...

Re: dB Peak Level Meter in Arrangement View

I mean, the reason this bothers me so much is because it's embarrassing. I do not use the meters myself, however... when I'm giving instruction to new users who are asking about such devices, yes, I actually thought there was the same dB meter in both views. Instructed my buddy that he wasn't lookin...

Re: dB Peak Level Meter in Arrangement View

You'll need to upload an image, as I do not see the peak meter on any track in Arrangement view. Am I to assume your suggestion of hitting "tab" is to see session view? Mind, that's not hitting tab once, that's hitting tab at least twice if working from Arrangement. I do not understand why...

dB Peak Level Meter in Arrangement View

Hi, For how many years and versions have people been asking for the simple implementation of the Session View dB Peak Level Meter to be available for viewing in the Arrangement View? This SIMPLE fix, asked for in the forums since version 6 (probably earlier), would streamline the mixing process for ...

Re: Ableton and Vestax VCM-600. Custom preset and LED lights

The dummy clip method works; quick, easy fix -- all my lights work with this method.

Good tip. Ran into the same problem -- was worried I'd have to code my own script... !

Re: Best way to remove "clicks" in CLIP recording loop?

you can't tell the difference between using the fades option and setting it by hand, except that setting it by hand is very time consuming Maybe you can't... but some of us can. In the production environment, it doesn't take much time once you know how to do it right. Besides, why not take the extr...

Re: Best way to remove "clicks" in CLIP recording loop?

Sorry for saying perfect, I meant clickless... And sure, even if it's not completely perfect, I've found it to be a good indication. Enough tweeking close up, so long as you're in the right area, and you'll hit the mark. Are you saying it's a good idea to leave the fades on? It's just with the fades...

Re: Best way to remove "clicks" in CLIP recording loop?

I disagree with the "fades" option...

If you want the loop to sound perfect, zoom in as close as you can on the waveform and make sure the "start" and "end" of the loop are at a point when the pressure is at 0... you'll get a sure-result this way.

Re: Home Studio Mixer Suggestions

Ignore the Onyx suggestion -- it doesn't sound like you need another sound card at this time, and firewire is quickly dying... Depends what you need and your budget... you want to DJ, look around for a Xone92... you want a THRU, go to a pawn shop with the idea of spending a couple hours and test stu...

Re: Live Automatically Pitch Shifting Songs?

Maybe something happening with or to the sample rate...

Sounds like a crazy problem! Only tests I can think of would be to change overall sample rate on OS, mess with sample rate options in Live and on soundcard after reinstalling drivers... anything you can think of... see if anything happens...

Re: Complicated Sidechain for multiple tracks

Why would you not send the 3 bass tracks to their own individual mirror tracks? Just create three new tracks, and have their input be the three bass tracks respectively... mute the channels... send audio where you want. Don't use the Return tracks for this sort of work. They add a lot of unnecessary...

Same problem here...
Felt like a downgrade when I upgraded to Live 9... had to re-encode my entire library from M4A into WAV.
Really annoying we lost a feature there...

Re: Hard Dance Kicks with Ableton only?

Learn to synthesize your own kicks to have total control... Operator is a good place to start... starting with one oscillator, that pitches down a couple octaves (more or less) in a relatively short time period. A sharp attack is pretty well necessary... and mess around with the release time 'til yo...
