Access to Lives Analysis

Whenever I throw a clip into Live, it will be analyzed. I get warp markers, and a BPM value etc. How can I access these information? I didn't ever found any files where it possibly is stored. There are .asd files which supposed to have that info, but I never found any of my own clips.asd... Even the...

Re: Live 9 - What Workflow Needs the Most Improvement?

I also voted for 3, as the other areas are well maintained already in Live. If Live could cover that area as well, I'd be delighted. Especially more than 2 channel tracks are on the top of my wish list. I want to get rid of ProTools forever...;-)

Re: Max/MSP M4L conference united kingdom

I'd come and give a talk, if hitch-hikers get a free ticket...;-) I'd talk about using Max as base for a personalized instrument, how to avoid doing the same thing as everybody, how to compose for more than 2 speakers without going into non working theoretical virtual sound sources... And of course,...

Tj Shredder plays Gesualdo

I will perform an improvisation on Music from Gesualdo tomorrow 14.5. @ 17:15 in Berlin Crellestr. 5-6 (Museum der unerhörten Dinge) during "Crelle gibt den Ton an"... My set is based on Max/MSP in this case. I might port my granulator patch to M4L if there is interest... See you there... ...

Re: how do I get this to work polyphonically?

For his patch I meant the poly without ~. But its always worth to look into poly~ as well...;-)
Out of the posted patch I don't really know what it is about, but for sure there is a solution along these lines. And for those who learn its rewarding to find out the solution themself...

Re: Is it possible to build a simple crossfader in M4L?

For sure its possible. You need to mark the tracks you want to crossfade, and then control their volume from a fader.
Just made a device which should do what you want, I uploaded it to MaxForLive.com:

Have fun...

Depending on the complexity of your video control, you could eventually do the video also completely within MaxForLive...

I'll be in Paris le weekend 5/6 mars, as you are playing there, I might show up at your show... keep a guest card for me...;-)

Re: audio files combined

Yes, with the aid of Audiosculpt you could create some sort of morphing. Its worth getting into...
There are also the spectral tutorials from CNMAT, which implement some of this stuff in Max/MSP.

Should also work in MaxForLive....

Re: Synths all went out of tune

The only way to detune a Midi track I can think of is pitchbend. Hook up a midi monitor and watch it... It does not need automation, to be active. Midi devices and miditracks just listen to it. You could also force it by moving the pitchbend wheel... I bet its along these lines, especially because a...

Re: Converting MIDI notes to MIDI CC . ( MIDI CC for Video )

This should not be too difficult, it depends a bit how you want to control what. The patch below would scale one octave to a controller and smooth the change based on the velocity. I bet it does not fit what you want, but might give you an idea how to achieve what you want... Stefan <pre><code> ----...

Re: audio files combined

Now I get an idea what you are after. In your case you'd rather work with samples. Have also a look at different ways of morphing sound. I could imagine that this would yield interesting results. You could also do some sort of blending, like start with a Muslim phrase and end with a Jewish or vice v...

Re: audio files combined

It is not quite clear what you hear in your head... If we talk about spectral content of sound, or of a track, this is changing all the time. If you apply the spectrum of track A completely to track B, then you hear the same as on track A. There are two ways to describe a sound. One is the frequency...
