Previewing Midi Files in the Browser-Am I missing something?

When I preview midi files in the Ableton browser it sounds awful! Searching for an answer I found some *really* old posts that described a basic sine wave file that Live uses for previewing MIDI that can't be changed? Has this been fixed? Google doesn't reveal any recent complaints, so I'm hoping th...

Re: Komplete 9

I prefer Amplitube over Guitar Rig. Is it useful? Sure but imo Amplitube sounds better Fair enough. Have you tried Guitar Rig 5 vs. older versions of GR? For sound quality I have to say that to my ears my Line 6 Podfarm (I got the 'Gold Bundle' a long time ago on a promo DI box) beats them all - bu...

Re: Komplete 9

I have a simple little question here about Komplete 9. Would I be better off Buying it, or just buying the tools that are included individually as I need them, such as Massive I know it is included. I just don't know that I would use everything that is included. I know its a better deal to buy comp...

Re: question: save a live set and when i open the set is diff

An example of my problem: Saved a live set where i used a max for live device called schwazzinator to play chords by pressing one key. The chord preset i used was called something with the word "ears" in it. Anyway, i saved and clised and turned off computer. When i opened the next day the schwazzi...

Re: Suite 8 -> Live 9? Who is going down this route?

I voted 'Suite + M4L to Suite' only because the prices for upgrade are $199 for Suite or $159 for Live. For just 40 bucks, I guess I'll take the extra pre-sets. Is there any other difference?? From what I've been reading the extra presets are the only difference for Suite + M4L owners vs. going stra...

Re: Is it true Live 9 releases on 2/11/13

That wouldn't be a good idea, the beta is still suffering a lot of problems... I haven't had many problems with the beta. The only reason I want a client anyway is so I can have something that is hopefully more cpu efficient than a beta  If the current beta isn’t CPU efficient what makes you t...

Re: Push in rewire mode

Ha... You really are new to Ableton. They don't hang around with the likes of us cretins on the forums. And something like Push will be only dropped in small doses to get people all talking about it, asking billions of the same questions, starting hundreds of threads and getting all excited about s...

Re: Cubasis for iPad

Anyone used the iMPC ? What's the 'pad' response & sound quality like ? Looks very nice !! I'm thinking this will go in my Xmas stocking  The pads feel a little on the stiff side... not alot of give compared to what I'm used to. Honestly though, sound quality is amazing, and the interf...

Re: Roland SP-404 vs Ableton

I usesd to own an sp-404. It is very portable. That is it's *only* advantage. Ableton with a cheap pad controller (pick up an old m-audio trigger finger or some such thing from ebay) will do FAR more than any SP 404, and there is *nothing* the sp-404 could do better than ableton except be more porta...

Forgotten Plugin Settings:What have I done to deserve this!?

So I had this amazing combined synth patch involving a Reason Combinator Rewired on one channel, and 3 different FM8 synths with a Guitar Rig on a couple of them, all grouped and controlled by one master MIDI channel sending out the notes. I made a couple of patterns, praised little baby jesus for t...

Re: Props open up Reason to UHE and other developers!

I was so hoping that they would do this the other way around. Allow the whole Reason rack as a VST which then could be used by Live like any other VST. But no, they've isolated themselves some more. Personally, Reason 6 was a step in the wrong direction, now they're running away from me. Tony...

Re: Does the boxed version of Intro include any vocals

I've gotten some nice vocal snippets for free here. Also a TON of other stuff too: http://www.freesound.org/packsView.php Oh, and I dug around in the box looking for the little woman that sings and does all the work for you, and I think YILA might be out to lunch, or I really got ripped off, 'cuz I ...

Re: Native Instruments and Tim Exile present: The Mouth

cheers for the info guys. Really looking forward to trying this out, and have since installed the latest kore player to accommodate it. Might not work -> It's a Reaktor Instrument. I know that the Kore runs the Reaktor engine, but I'm also thinking that they wouldn't have created the new Reaktor pl...

Re: Native Instruments and Tim Exile present: The Mouth

funny video, looks like it could be extremely useful and I would be very interested to here peoples thoughts who have used it. btw Tim Exile is doing a TED talk this Saturday in England http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=152235 I bought and am using this. VERY FUN! And pretty useful too....
