Re: Catalina will break Live 9

I've got an old iPhone 5 that I can't update so it can't install new apps. I don't want to do that to my Mac. Dual booting from partitions is another kludgy workaround that I don't want to do. I want to keep updating my Mac whenever it seems like a good idea and I want to keep running Live. So I'm g...

Re: Catalina will break Live 9

This is a software car crash of industrial proportions. It is caused by Apple of course. It seems a bit flippant to suggest that I never update my operating system. I could do that for a short while but not forever. I had decided that I didn't need to upgrade to Live 10 and I could not justify the ...

Re: Offsetting a looped midi clip's start point

Set the start point where the note starts, set the loop start just after that and the loop end before the note end. That gives a never-ending note ( if that's what you want).

Re: Why is my microphone input so low?

Just to clarify sana's points, the shure sm58 does not need phantom power and your sound card has preamps, which are required. I can't see what the problem might be based on what you have said. When you are getting ready to record you need to check that the bars on the input mixer are going right up...

Enjoy the built in lessons, read the manual and don't take some of the forum posters too seriously.

Re: <----Utterly Ignorant Ableton User

1. Don't panic. Live is a huge and complicated program but you don't need to learn it all in order to record your guitar. Give yourself time, take it in small steps and if you get frustrated then just take a break and come back to it later. If you persist then you will learn to do what you want and ...

Re: Arrangement view

I think you have misunderstood. What you call "mixer view" is session view. You can have clips in session view but nothing in arrangement view. you can record from session view into arrangement view. Or you can drag clips from session to arrangement. It is fairly well explained in chapter one of the...

Re: How fast does your Live sets load?

MacBookPro mid 2014 2.8 GHz 4 cores 16 GB RAM 1TB SSD My current set (with 8 instances of my max midi generator device, a max midi monitor, drum rack and synth, total of 7 tracks) loads in 7 seconds. I am happy with this. Live only crashes when I am programming Max, which I assume is because I have ...

Re: Can anyone explain how a MIDI Data Dump works please?

There are sysex librarian programs. MIDI-OX is a good option on windows. Probably easier than trying to do it through Max.

Re: Does anyone else have a problem with the FCB1010 and Looper?

It doesn't matter what the fcb is sending as long as you make sure the looper button is only mapped to the message that you want.
