Re: Time Signature Change in Arrangement View not reflected in midi clip

That’s where the relativity of clips comes into play. Bar number on a clip compared to the timeline is arbitrary. It could be 1, it could be 9, it could be 16.

The only way it’d count correctly is if clips had info within them to change time signature changes, and therefore the number of beats ...

Re: Time Signature Change in Arrangement View not reflected in midi clip

Live is clip based. The counting inside clips is always based on the clip itself. Then these counts follow the tempo of Live. It is a fundamental concept of Live. The clips are always self contained, their count does not reference the global arrangement signature.

I do see the frustration though ...

Re: Use ableton link without active internet connection

This is actually a very complex thing and I don’t know if anything has changed in the last 5 years but you either need to be a configuration wiz or use software.

Personally, I’ve resorted to either using a LAN Ethernet cable with adapters (even that can be hectic), or, currently, inside a mini ...

Re: Use ableton link without active internet connection

Do you have a network connection set up via thunderbolt? Link requires networking. Either wired or wireless.

Re: Bug with velocity control in Electric?

Other elements might also be affected by velocity at the same time. But when you only change the control, the velocity and those elements aren’t interrelated

Re: Add MIDI note duration after note off

Only thing I can think of is using a sustain pedal type thing? This is the only case I can think of where a note continues despite the note off being transmitted. Might be a few ways to play with the sustain pedal behavior??

Re: Bug? "Only audio effects can be inserted into an audio track"

Instruments require midi input. Those get dragged into midi or instruments tracks.

Audio tracks are anticipating having audio clips on those tracks. Audio clips don’t really make sense in conjunction with instruments (generally speaking)

So I would try dragging an instrument into a different type ...

Re: AU vs. VST2 and VST3? Which is 'better'?

I usually go with vst3. I’m not wildly experienced though. The only pesky aspect of vst3 is that its handling of Program Change is not always desirable. If I intend to do Program Change, I’ll load the AU version.

Edit: I think I recall some of the routing options being limited in AU though.
I ...

Re: Ableton Live 12 Suite: Options > Audio > ASIO driver question

Is there a way to open the driver software for that interface while Live is not open, for configuration?

Have you looked for info about asio setup for that hardware on YouTube?

Re: Using keyboard/controller functions with another keyboard.

You can use keyboards simultaneously. There are also ways to filter data so each keyboard might have unique duties.

When looking for a controller, it is nice to keep an eye out for Live Control Surface support, which automatically maps parameters of Live to the keyboard’s controls.

The hard part ...

Clever pun with that name haha. Roads… Rhodes keyboard. There are probably many similar types of fx combos if you keep an eye out for the punnage. Seems these people who name the presets are trying to punish us to deaf.

Re: Two computer Sync, without interuptions?

If you use Link, there is the option to have start/stop synchronized. I usually have it off. Then anyone can start or stop whenever they feel.

You would want it on if you need multiple devices to start at the same part simultaneously, or if you want them all to start and stop together in ...

The only way I can think of is if it’s already mapped to something else. Like a macro of an empty Rack.

Re: MP3 Import Truncated

When you say the 6 seconds at the end are truncated, do you mean that what you hear is the song abruptly cutting off? Or do you mean that the song ends as normal but the overall duration of the clip is shorter?

Time duration and clips in Live can depend on a lot of factors. So it is good to have ...

Re: Using the Chord Midi Effect for progression

Add a scale effect after the chord effect. This nudges the out-of-scale notes back in place.
