Re: Is this still a problem in Live v10?

Of course you can edit destructively in Live if you wish. It's been there for ages. "Consolidate" or "Crop" will get you started. Manual: 6.12 Consolidating Clips Manual: 8.2.10 Cropping Audio Clips You can also render out your edits for more control: Manual: 5.2.3 Exporting Audio and Video Bring up...

Re: APC 40 Will Marshall template: Headphones

In his video, at around 8:50, the solo buttons are supposed to feed only the outputs set to 'CUE' out? He seems to be saying as much, and when he hits the blue button, the music cuts out; it's not working that way for me. Anyone have a clue? According to Will - It's not supposed to work the way it...

Re: Installing VST’s

VST installing checklist 1. Install VST2 not VST3 (VST3 is not yet supported in official Live releases). 2. If using Live 10, it is 64-bit, so install 64-bit versions of the VSTs. If using Live 9 or less, install 32-bit VSTs for use with 32-bit Live, 64-bit VSTs for use with 64-bit Live. 3. Make sur...

Re: Modify or shorten tempo range for MIDI mapping on a surface controller.

You can set the range of any MIDI mapping in the MIDI Mapping Browser (when in MIDI Mapping Mode). https://remotify.io/sites/all/themes/custom/remotify/images/ableton-midi-mapping/midi-mapping-browser.jpg A MIDI parameter/control can hold 128 values - from 0 to 127 for example. The resulting size of...

Re: How to remove a single effect from an mp3 track?

Just like you mix together ingredients to bake a cake, the ingredients of a song are mixed together and then "baked" when rendered as a stereo file. Once your cake or song is baked, removing ingredients from this can lead to various results. Some elements are easier to take out than others - In a ca...

Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):

Hi, I am using Ableton 10 Lite, .... Hi Stennos, a few things to consider in this order: 1. What sound output (soundcard driver and physical output(s)) is used in Live settings vs iTunes settings? Is it the same? 2a. In Live, what are your Master output levels in Live before exporting? What have yo...

Re: Master channel defaults

Set all that you mentioned above (and more if you like) to what you want and create a Default Template Set. It can simply be a Template Session you save and then load at the start of each project or you can also use Live's features for this: Creating new or blank Template Sets https://help.ableton.c...

I can get it to work by "Duplicating time but thats not where I want to paste the section.
"Time" has more functions than just "duplicate". You can copy and paste Time, which is what you would want in this case.

Re: Going Native...

Any software and hardware limitations will be different for every person depending on what they want to do with these tools, so I wouldn't really worry too much about whether other people are doing it that way or not. Do it and see if it is right for you and then you will see the limitations that ap...

Re: Content is Different Between Session & Arrangement Views?

To add to what was already suggested, .... be careful in you reasoning as to what is really "the content". When you import/drag an audio file into Live it is contained in a "Clip". Every Clip in Live, even if it "contains" or "points to" the same audio file on your hard drive, is it's own proper "en...

Re: Help!!!! Custom VST folder questions.

What version Number of Live? 64bit, 32bit?
What version of VSTs - VST2, VST3? 64bit, 32bit?

If you run 32bit Live, it will only see 32 bit plugins. 64bit Live will only see 64 bit plugins. VST3 will only be available in Live 10.1 (or in current Beta).

Re: Mastering DJ Mixes

Just turn off WARP in your clip containing your Mix (the clip containing your AIFF File) and don't worry about the BPM of the session - it will be irrelevant to what you want to do, i.e. Mastering the mix (unless you want to start filling around with the tempos of your recorded mix). You are doing t...
