+ infinity.
This one limitation is the only thing that's keeping me from using Live exclusively. I can't believe this wasn't addressed in version 6.

I've asked for almost the exact same thing in this thread, and others.

Instruments
I love Operator. I think it's one of the most elegant virtual instrument designs so far. I would love to see Robert and the Ableton crew turn their hands to other types of synthesis/instruments. Wavetables (ala PPG and Waldorf) would be my first choice, but I'd also like to see what they could do ...

I would also like to see something like this. A variation that might fit into the current scheme that Live uses would be something similar to Vember Audio's surge:
Create a set of global "controls" in the live GUI which could be MIDI mapped as part of the session/template. These could then be mapped ...

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any tips for determining a track's time signature?
I've had a horrible time trying to warp certain tracks (a NIN song, and a couple of Underworld tracks) and have ended up playing with the time signature setting in frustration, when poof! Suddenly Everything ...

While I understand the motivation, I don't see how the "zero-footprint" pc is a better solution than the laptop. It actually has a larger footprint than a laptop, and isn't built with the durabilty of a dedicated portable solution. If you're really that unsatisfied with laptops, I'd suggest building ...

SDK for third party devs
It might be useful to provide some sort of SDK or GUI builder for third party plugin developers. I really like Live's method of integrating instruments and effects into the main interface, and it would would be nice if other devs had the option of supporting it.
Oh, and consider this another vote ...

There are various links to info about the setup they use for their recent live shows on the forums at www.dirty.org
If memory serves, they haven't changed a whole lot from the way they used to do things, they've simply refined and added to it (like adding Live). The way they've done things for years ...

This is exactly the sort of mixing I've been working on developing. My problem has been not wanting to increase/decrease the tempo so much it destroys the feel of the original. So far I've had the most success turning off warping for those tracks, and just mixing by ear. It seems to me that's more ...
