It´s hard to get information on that, so were did you get yours (that it´s not supported) did you figure it out yourself or so?

In my eyes the C4 would perfectly compliment live 5, I´ve a Logic Control and XT and I´m considering to buy a Mackie C4 for Logic, but it would be a heavy reason more if it was supported by live 5.
Accidently I can´t find any notes on that neither in the FAQ nor in the Mackie/Ableton MCU-Manual ...
