Works perfect for me 64 bit live9 in windows 8. What does it sound like, awesome, really awesome

It says in the article download the C++ Distribution corresponding to the version of live your are using, so it would be 32bit not 64 bit.
Whether or not live9 is an upgrade isn't relevant, it runs fine on a fresh system with no previous live, that's how I did it

Say for example (like me) you have some custom patches you use all the time, then its worth keeping the old library. I am a returning user with some saved tracks from a previous version so I had no library. To get my custom kicks, master channel patches, synth patches etc I had to load the old songs...

The factory packs folder is essentailly the new library for live, if you look in preferences it will tell you the default place the folder is kept, which you also have the option to move to another drive. That's where all the old pre 9 packs go (with legacy written after them in the folder view)

Someone asked about the size in another thread, it extracts into live as 55 gig, the downloaded files are compressed prior to installing. The session drums come in 3-4 packs and replace the old single pack, again they uncompress to be the biggest chunk of the new library. I'm not sure why they didn'...

I downloaded all packs today through 'your packs' on ableton site, when added to live you get over 50 gig of content.
