midi timing in clip

hi. When i record drums in a midi clip, i usually do it without quantization. I get the problem that usually the first kick in a loop ive made is a little bit before the beat, so therefore getting cut off from the loops start. does this mean that a kick always has to be right on or behind the first ...

Re: Time and speed

yeah the drums would be ableton based.
But i guess i could play the drums through a keyboard seperatly instead of programming them by grid?
But changing the timing means that for each riff or chord variation played in different timing i would have to find the new bpm each time ?

Time and speed

Hello, I have made a couple of electronic tracks and been producing on and off for maybe 2 years now. Time was no issue for me when working completely midi and sample wise. But since then i have gone over to writing rock/electronic/indie songs on a guitar and keyboard and i notice that i have no f**...

Re: Importing video and score writing

Guff Tong, Great idea. My movie is laid across in 4 files, so i have 4 QT files. Now i just need to know how to time them together perfectly in the arrangement view. At the end of every part there seems to be a few milliseconds of silence. I changed the grit to 1/32 and tripled grit but i still cant...

Can Arpeggiato notes be recorded to midi?

So Abletons Arp is great and the random button can come up with a bunch of good notes at certain places. Instead of hearing them and trying to find them/create from scratch. Is there a way in Ableton, or with any vsts to have an arp with a random pattern play the notes directly into the piano roll ?...

Re: Transpose to a certain note?

thanks for the example. I can clearly hear the difference. One question though, when your drum samples. How do you know what note the particulair drum sample is on. Because it's only transposing numbers and not letters. And which kind of chords do you normaly tune them to? like the chord of the root...
