Re: Ableton has a time stretching sampler

Make sure your midi controller is set to "remote" in midi prefs...

I'm still really enjoying this feature.

Ableton has a time stretching sampler

Its just in session....take a look at 19:45 of this video:

Amazing feature I had no idea was there. Is this new for 9 (I just got Live 9)? Seriously amazing workflow for sampling.

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Still those annoying delays when you're moving regions around the arrange page, etc.
Yes...that's a big disappointment as well as seeing most of the same plugin GUI's. I thought they bought off Redmatica and were about to drop a super sexy new sampler...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

I've spent a whole day with LPX and to me it feels like LP9 with a coat of paint. Mainly because my biggest gripe with Logic has been the archaic destructive audio editing (lack of reverse, transpose, etc. without horrible workarounds). It appears they made a nice upgrade with the new audio editing ...

Re: MPC to Ableton - Sample in ableton have poor stereo image

This wouldn't involve the stereo image but drum racks default with a Simpler that has 0 velocity and a slightly truncated sustain. Tweak velocity and it comes alive quite a bit.

Re: Key command to start from beginning?

I have a template that always maps the number pad "1" to a locater at the beginning. Once you get used to it its automatic. As the arrangement grows I start adding more numbers to various locaters (first verse, etc.) like markers in logic. Quick and very usable.

Re: Ableton 9: No Comping Features

My completely uninformed guess.... Ableton mentioned several times that session view automation required a good deal of code re-write. They bit the bullet and spent much of this release period doing under the hood work to make this happen and clean up their codebase. Now that its done - the next rel...

Beautiful song. Congrats. Amazing that you overcame the horrible audio quality limitations of Live.

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

reeloy nailed it. Logic is a studio environment, Live an instrument that tries to be a DAW. Live's default setup is optimized for live playing....for instance auto fades are enabled b/c if you drag audio clips into a live set you don't want clicks. However people make judgments about sound quality ...

changing VST / AU presets

I quite like how in Logic when you have an AU open (or a Logic instrument) you can use the bracket keys to cycle through presets. Any way to map a shortcut to do this in Ableton?

thanks.

Re: Live 8 gets 64bit support.

I'm getting almost 10% less CPU on one of my tracks using my fairly old MBP w/ 4GB RAM.

Re: Recording Shoot-out: Ableton proved inferior??

When you play back in Live do you have "auto warp" and "auto fade" turned off?
