tiBook, Live, RME Multiface=good?
Hi all,
I'm currently using live 2.03 on a G4 tiBook 867, OS 10.2.4 and feel like adding an external audio card to my setup. Due to my focus on very low latency (at least under 10ms) I wonder wheter an RME Hammerfall DSP PC-Card w/ Multiface would suit my needs or not. I usually use up to 10 Tracks ...

Hmm... depends on the kind of music you produce. I'm into that Experimental Noise / Power Electronics thing and this is a pretty small scene. Everybody knows eachother. One can say that everybody who's listening to this kind of music is producing it as well. so it's a good way to find new friends ...

I get about six to eight tracks with some mda vst plugins. a real killer (in a bad sense) is the built-in reverb with shoots my cpu usage quickly beyond 60 percent. and this is when the interface becomes sluggish and nothing works without an obvious latency. Interesting: It seems that it doesn't ...

would pay too...
I also would pay for a major update that consists of some performance optimisations for g4. in case ableton is still wondering whether to do it or not - how many pros did you see doing a performance on a win-based laptop? just go to the clubs and see what happens. of course the vaios and dells do ...

Your recommendations
Thanks four our advice. I don't use an external audiodevice by now but it seems like i will try out the RME-Cardbus-System - but not right now since I don't like their pricing (although I don't think they'll lower it).
I still have a question: How can I use one reverb for many channels? Is it ...

Increasing Performance for live appearances?
Hi all,
I'm using Live 2.0.1 for a few weeks now and wonder if I can increase the overall performance of this pretty cool tool. My setup: TiBook G4 867, 768 MB Ram, 30 GB Harddisk (with a 14 GB partition only for soundfiles), OS X 2.3, Oxygen 8
My Proposals: Chopping Samples as short as possible ...
