Re: Max 7: new timestretch objects in Ableton

Ok, maybe I exaggerated a little! :D Changed first post accordingly. I have to point out: I think the new timestretch algorithms sound very good and offer great potential! I understand that ableton doesn't officially support Max 7. However Cycling74 explicitly advertises with new M4L devices featuri...

Max 7: new timestretch objects in Ableton

Merry Christmas! I installed the trial version of Max 7 (within ableton as M4L) being quite excited by the new algorithms for independent pitch and time. Then I tried the example patcher PitchTimePlayer... Though I have pretty powerful system I get cpu usage of about 70% as soon as I set it to rhyth...

Re: unlock some special features ;)

You mean MIDI Remote Scripts?! http://julienbayle.net/ is a very good resource. Than try to figure out how the original scripts work. (Just a warning: The decompiled py-versions that you'll find in the web are created automatically and contain many syntactic mistakes. U can't simply recompile them f...

Re: unlock some special features ;)

Ok, I tried it. When changing the host tempo live keeps the sample data of audio clips unchanged and only changes the tempo information of each warp marker. The moment you finish recording your first loop and set a new host tempo, you would have to recalculate all those warp markers. You could rewri...

Re: unlock some special features ;)

I don't think that's possible. My solution includes rewriting the complete midi clip - but u can't rewrite audio material though. You would have to rewrite the warp markers (which I made possible :) ) but as live only readS the asd-file once and caches the information, changing the asd-file wouldn't...

unlock some special features ;)

Hey guys, I've fulfilled my personal wish list and implemented some features that I always missed. Record any midi clip in a "first loop sets the tempo" mode, as the Looper could only do. Done via Remote Midi Scripts and thus pretty time accurate and stabil. I've written a M4L-Object (wind...

Re: Convert Audio Effect To Midi Effect

You should activate the option "open in presentation" in the patcher inspector of your new Midi-Device.
Please also keep in mind that if you copy and paste objects they will appear some pixels lower and more to the right (as set in you copy&paste-preferences).

cheers
Simon

Re: How to control: reverse, clip tempo, pitch in real time?

Hi Tomasz,

Things like the half/double tempo and reversing the sample are calculated offline by ableton live. So there is no chance to change that via midi or M4L.

cheers,
Simon

Re: Simple Griid-like Touchscreen Monitor Patch

From the M4L-API it should be very easy to implement an own User Interface. You can observe which slipslots contain a clip, you can get their names and start/stop playing... But: I agree with darth_fader. I've been always curious about touchscreens, because till now you always had 1 device that give...

Re: Ability to utilise Touch Screen capability

I would like to use my laptops Touch Screen to launch clips - Ableton could have a special "clip launch screen" or just become more touch/multitouch freindly (clips have bigger hit area etc.) Anyone know if there is anything like TouchOSC/Griid that can actually run locally on windows mac...

install live pack on another location than library

Dear community!

Is it possible to install a live pack (in this case the retro synths) on another location than the library?

My library is located on my normal hard drive and I'd like to have the 3GB of the retro synths on my mobile drive.

Thank you,
Simon

latin midi grooves (extending Latin Percussion)

Hi guys,

does anybody know a collection of latin styles as midi clips similar to the clips that come with the latin percussion?

I like them but they are pretty few, hm?!

I don't mind wether they are free or commercial.

thank you,
simon
