They aren't the most neutral sounding cans in the world, but they are very comfortable and because of the noise cancelling, you can actually hear your music on a plane...

Saffire 6 is 2 in 4 out, 2i2 is 2 in 2 out.

Focusrite Saffire 6 USB is a good choice. I have one, and it works great with my pc. Whatever you do, don't get a firewire-based Saffire Pro. They don't work at all with pc's in my experience. I have a Saffire Pro 40, and it's totally useless with my pc. When used with my mac, it's a completely diff...

Session Strings Pro from Native Instruments can do a decent job on orchestral strings.

For guitars, it depends on the style, but for rhythm guitars, both Rob Papen and Native Instruments have decent plugins.

Command+Click on the arm buttons will do that for you. (Ctrl+Click on a pc)
