maybe a Drumkat? They come pretty pricy but are available 2nd hand on Ebay from time to time. I got mine 2nd hand quite cheap and just replaced the rubber, working perfect for over 10 years now.

Maybe you receive Midi notes but there s no sound cause its nothing gets triggered?
