no misunderstanding.. that's essentially what i was looking for..
maybe something can be worked out by opening other "receiver" max patches on the different audio tracks, and send the audio from the master patch to the receiver patches through Max sends..

Re: dynamic routing to audio tracks in Live?
thanks for responding.. my previous explanation was kind of vague.. here's what i'm trying to do: I want to go from a MIDI-in track* into a Max patch opened on that track, with the incoming MIDI passed to MIDI instrument plugins hosted in the Max patch, then the audio outs of the different MIDI inst...

dynamic routing to audio tracks in Live?
Hi, this might be a dumb question, but.. Is it feasible to run one instance of M4L on a "dummy" track in Ableton, from which, multiple instrument plug-ins could be opened in, and routed dynamically to various Ableton audio tracks? i'd like to do most/all of the MIDI processing in Max, and ...

Re: populating MIDI clips using M4L and/or Live API ?
thanks for the info.. i'm familiar with ajm objects.. hopefully there's a way to do the same for controllers, eventually.. possibly by writing a new external.. thanks for pointing me in the right direction..

populating MIDI clips using M4L and/or Live API ?
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to use the Live API to send MIDI data directly to clips, either by sending a Standard MIDI file through the API, or some other representation? I know that you can drag and drop a Standard MIDI file from the browser.. i'm trying to find a way to automate this so...

Re: Stuck notes from midiformat/pitchbend. (A New Tuning Patch)
I did try that first and it didn't sound right, so I thought that it was changing the MSB only.. then after I hooked up [xbendout2] i realized that my synths pitch bend range was set to 2... i changed it to one semitone and everything sounded good, so I left it.. I was so happy to have it working th...

Re: Stuck notes from midiformat/pitchbend. (A New Tuning Patch)
It works like a charm ! Here's the updated patch. The instructions for using it and getting the GUI to show up correctly in Live are posted at the top of the thread. Also included with this version is a musical interval calculator on the right of the patch where you can try out different interval ca...

Re: Stuck notes from midiformat/pitchbend. (A New Tuning Patch)
Yes, unfortunately it's still doing the same thing in Max standalone. I'm hoping that there is something that I'm overlooking, but the premise of it is so simple that I can't see what could be wrong. I'm just adding in one single pitch bend event for each note played. If the pitch bend wheel on the ...

Re: Stuck notes from midiformat/pitchbend. (A New Tuning Patch)
Good question.. I didn't consider that yet because the patch is for sending MIDI to an instrument in Live...
but that would be a very good thing to check.. I will as soon as I get home later.. thanks !

Stuck notes from midiformat/pitchbend. (A New Tuning Patch)
Greetings, I'm working on a patch to send microtonal tuning adjustments to a monophonic sound via pitch bend. The notes that are played on a MIDI keyboard go directly from the Max midiin to the midiout to Live. Running parallel to this, the pitch class (0 to 11) of the current note being played is d...

Re: MIDI file player from within Max?
"seq" may not work for this application, since it is only 24 ppqn (48 ticks per second @ 120 bpm ) unless, that is only what it "needs" for a clock to trigger it.. does anyone know if it can play timings of a finer resolution? I have full MIDI sequences generated by a Ruby compos...

MIDI file player from within Max?
Does anyone know of a MIDI file player that can be used within Max? The optimum object would be one that accepts multiple files and queues them (accept new files while it is "playing" (synced to the master transport), and add the new files to the end of its queue). It may be something that...

Re: Live's MIDI resolution is 96 ppqn.
It's at the beginning of the other thread:timothyallan wrote:Care to share your test methods?

The whole story is there, and how we found out that it's only the MIDI file export that is at the lower resolution, NOT the Live resolution in general.
