Does this matter for 24-bit processing?

Hi guys, I'm using a UX2 as my interface for ableton. If I go to hardware setup, the ASIO driver format is set 44100 Hz; 16 bit. My question is, this is the bit and sample rate only for recording inputs, right? If I'm only sequencing soft synths, that is, not using the interface to record anything, ...

general question about audio vs. midi

Was just wondering.. for the sake of general knowledge.. Say there are 2 projects. One project consists of 10 audio tracks.. where beats and instruments are all recorded audio files to be processed. The other project then consists of 10 midi tracks.. where midi notes are tied to virtual software ins...

what's your current lowest latency?

Hey guys, Can you do me a favour? If you go to Preferences, and then Audio, what's the lowest "output latency" you can achieve? For me, the lowest I can get is 2.36ms .. how does this fare off? It's almost barely audible but I know there's a very slight delay.. wondering if it's my audio interface.....

Hey tillman,

Glad you got that fixed.

Just wondering.. now that ableton is running smooth on your new computer.. how does it run on the core i5 processor compared to your old computer? Notable differences?

Cheers,

nanokontrol midi mapping simple question

Hey guys, How do you map 2 buttons to do something? For example, I'm using the mydr script.. they've mapped the loop as a shift key so that when you press loop in addition with play it has a function.. I'd like to map loop button + bottom button of track 1 so that it activates soloing track 1 in LIV...

Re: Launchpad : tips n tricks, ideas, suggestions

Hey guys,

Can you midi assign the launchpad to represent EQ? Such that it will look like the volume bars in mixer mode, except each column represents a band of EQ.

Can anybody check it out?

Cheers!

Re: New Daw Computer Recommendations help Appreciated

Just a heads up, Somewhere else in the forum states that Live only uses dual-core processing... or doesn't support multithreading well.. or basically that the newest core7 with 8 cores has no use with Live.. Also.. it can't use more than 2.5 gb of RAM or something.. Been looking to get a laptop for ...

Re: Dual Core or Quad Core? Is Multicore worth it?

Hey jbfunk I'm wondering exactly the same thing..

If live doesn't benefit from say, core7, it seems such a waste to get it if the main purpose is to maximize live's performance.

Re: Choosing a Laptop to run Live

I've been looking to get a new laptop too.. Made a post about this earlier. Trying to figure out what configuration to get.. Roughly I know that you should get the new processors .. either core5 or core7.. opposed to core2duo.. as they've been proven to perform much better with audio producing appli...

New Intel core5 and core7 processors

Hey guys, Are any of you using these new processors with live? How do they perform? I'm currently using a desktop with a Pentium Dual-Core @2.60 ghz and 4 gigs of ram, and thinking about purchasing a laptop with one of these new processors. Two questions: 1. Do you think a laptop with one of these p...
