Thanks Kodama, I only really want to play a lot of chords and a few solo runs (I don't really need anything like pitch bend or stuff, I can always programme that in later), so I guess as long as I'm sending to one MIDI channel I ought to get the desired effect. It does look a bit flimsy, but I'll on...

Not sure if its the same problem but I get pops and clicks after about 40 minutes use, regardless of number of tracks, CPU usage etc. Save the file I'm working on, close Live, re-open Live, and hey presto! It's gone. 40 minutes later they come back again. Luckily I'm just doing Home Studio stuff but...

Ctuner - Free VST
Anyone tried using this free VST - its basically a guitar tuner, got it off the KVR site. Anyway, once installed in the VST folder, the moment I launch Live 5 and try to drag the VST to an audio track I get a fatal crash. Delete the VST from the folder - all fine again. Anyone else come across this?...

Haven't tried it with Quicktime, but have tried it with other web based 'play only' applications: Simply plug the left and right audio outs on the soundcard to the left and right audio in, make sure Live monitor for the channel is set to 'off' (otherwise you'll get an infinite 'loop echo' effect goi...

You could try using soundfonts. load sfz (or whatever its called, free soundfont vst) and then go to
http://www.sf2midi.com/
and do a search for the instruments you need. There is a shakuhachi, I looked, but I didn't get around to loading it and seeing how good it was.
