Re: Map multiple MIDI controllers to same functions for same Set
Their is no master template / children option in Live however ALS files can be opened from Lives browser and then expanded to allow just clips to be copied out into your different templates, i do this all the time with my mega set when i've made a change.... thanks s4arcen, i'll give it a try! we s...

Re: Map multiple MIDI controllers to same functions for same Set
Thanks for the quick answer. I have already tried to save a DN-X1700 set, a Xone 4D set, an APC set, and so forth... But my "current" session is not "static" though. I keep adding files, cuts, underlying textures to it... So, when I re-open a previous saved Set, it will not have ...

Map multiple MIDI controllers to same functions for same Set
Hi! I Dj around with ONE main Live Set. To avoid flying mixers and heavy equipment around, I often use the gear which i find available on spot. Everytime I change my MIDI controllers though, I have to re-map all the functions from scratch (filters, effects, samples, EQ...) Examples: DN-X1700, Xone 4...

DJ Large Session | Replacing mp3s with cache-decoded wavs
Hi, in my 20 GB project i have 1,000+ files, which generate an additional 30 GB of cache. I want to eliminate the cached-files and consolidate it into a 50 GB all-inclusive wavs-only project. (Of course it is not for the audio quality, just for the easiness of swapping around the project without hav...

Re: Really? APC20 accesses 125 scenes only?
3phase,
that is very interesting...
in fact, i'm experiencing longer and longer loading time (almost 900 songs loaded now...)
i don't understand about loading of smaller sessions. is it possible or are you teasing?
what do you anyway suggest to do?
thanks much!

Re: Really? APC20 accesses 125 scenes only?
yes oddstep, i understand what you're saying... but down here (virgin islands), we have the most cosmopolitan crowd to please in terms of music preferences... reggae, dancehall, bachata, reggaeton, r&b, hip hop, salsa, merengue, soca, bouyon, zouk, kompa, plus occasionally some soulful house, 70...

fast scrolling in ableton w/ apc40 or apc20
hi, i dj many genres with ableton live, with tempo varying from 60 to 160. the document i created is pretty large, with more than 500 scenes. i own both apc40 and apc20 and scrolling is a pain. i don't really care about scrolling sequentially the first 125 scenes through some apc shorcuts and then h...

Re: Really? APC20 accesses 125 scenes only?
has some fixes been made? this limitation is a pain. i don't really care about scrolling numerically the first 125 scenes and then nothing, but i care to scroll frm the top to 25% / half / 75% / and bottom of document. i dj many genres, with tempo varying from 60 to 160. ableton is simply amazing. b...

Re: Apc40 Live DJ: best external mixer
Hi Piotto! I'd like to know how the X1700 is working out for you in combination with the APC40? I own an APC40 and I'm looking for an external mixer, so I'm having the same issue as you were having :) Hi GL, It took me many hours of browsing around. The final mixers for the Ableton Live + APC40 set...

Re: Apc40 Live DJ: best external mixer
Thanks, i have just ordered the Denon DN-X1700. so you don't even have to bother w/ a soundcard. Macbook Pro, Apc40 and DN-X1700, just 3 pieces of gear, and only 2 USB connections, no other cables involved. I will post results/impressions once received. Antz, while waiting for this new mixer, i'm ex...

Re: Apc40 Live DJ: best external mixer
// gabreilsaint maybe i'm too much old school, but i definitely NEED a mixer. i need to cut basses and play w/ eq on multiple channels. no way i could do it only w/ apc40. changing EQ on a fly with apc40 moving from track to track is very frustrating and it's too easy to make mistakes. a mixer is a ...

Re: Apc40 Live DJ: best external mixer
i just have jammed some hours w/ a macbook pro (ableton live 8.0.4), apc40, motu ultralite and pioneer djm-600. used 8 outs from the motu into 4 stereo channels. i wanted to give a try to a 4 channel stereo mixer configuration, thinking about buying later the denon dn-x1700. my ableton session is ba...
