Re: Help with laggy audio
This project, with only audio tracks and a small amount of built-in plugins , I get the lag. I checked and I'm fully updated with java and all system updates. My sample rate is 44.1 and my buffer size is 125 samples. built in plugins you said, nested devices in racks with chains are known for bring...

Re: Help with laggy audio
lower sample rates and larger buffers are easier on your machine. they have the opposite effect with recording latency but you don't care about that. turn off your virus checker, the web connection, auto-updating software like Java etc. try a reboot as well. What's weird is that its only THIS proje...

Help with laggy audio
Having an issue with Ableton. I'm editing waveforms. When I hit play, every third time or so the audio doesn't come in for about a half-second. Seems like an output latency issue, but it doesn't happen every time. Any Ableton gurus experienced a similar issue? The project is all dialogue - chunks of...

Re: Question for producers!
do you guys have opportunities to play your original stuff live thats not in a dj setting? I can get gigs as a drummer playing music, but i've been wanting to do a set of my ableton music with my controllers. However, in my town my only chance would be to do it in a dj type environment with serato ...

Re: Question for producers!
i like to stand up there and pretend like turning a knob takes god damn talent by motioning my arms away from the knob like i just touched a hot stove. Anyway, I assume since this was aimed at producers "DJing" in this case meant playing your own stuff live. In which case, I'm all for a l...

Question for producers!
As a producer, how do you act when you DJ? Do you stand back and let your work speak for itself? Do you find a few FX presets to tweak? Or are you constantly at the controls, matching loops and twisting knobs, looking for new stuff to bring in, etc. Serious question, please no BS about "what yo...

Options for EQ as live DJ
What is a good way to EQ songs using Live as your DJ platform?
I'm thinking something like the iTunes equalizer. With multiple frequency bands.
EQ Eight and EQ Three work, but fall a little short in terms of "feeling like a traditional equalizer unit" in my opinion.

i guess you can give each other feedback as you work on the song, but i'm looking for a way to streamline the process.

Re: Who here collaborates?
One person is more creative. Another person is more technical. Everyone has a defined roll and contributes to a satisfactory end product. Seems like a good match for some folks. you don't understand... his friend is REALLY good at eqing... and he's REALLY good at programming drums.. this is it. i d...

Re: Who here collaborates?
I just wish that like, I could work on a beat while my partner fine tunes the EQ of the drum hits, simultaneously. Seems like you could get a lot done by syncing two machines together... however not every producer uses ableton live! There has to be a way to bridge that gap, with two creative minds i...

Who here collaborates?
With other producers, that is. I assume many of us do, and I bet many of us have wondered this very thing: how in the heck can two producers work on a project at the same time?? Sure, one producer can work the DAW and the other can use his/her ears, or make adjustments on a mixer or midi controller,...
