I would have thought this would have been an easy google but it seems not.. I've been looking at various soundcards for my new laptop purchase but none of them seem ideal:-

m-audio transit
Terratec DMX 6 Fire USB
EMU 0202 USB 2.0

I'm not fussed by multiple inputs at all I just want it ...

Thanks for the links, I've been reading some benchmarks and I'm probably going to go for the dell. Portability isn't really an issue for me and it looks like windows 7 will run ableton fine so there's no need for a nasty xp partition.

Have you seen the new dell studio 15 with an i7 on an offer for £670 at the moment? I'm very tempted myself. Seems incredibly good value.
