The Automation tools in Live are so outdated
Imagine the time it would take to make a complex, accurate, time synced curve like this in Live. Imagine if you wanted to slope that curve differently. Imagine if you wanted to lengthen or shorten or expand that curve... Total time taken in (unnamed other DAW) 10 seconds. https://media.giphy.com/med...

Vertically combine Launchpad and APC40 session view boxes?
I want my Launchpad and APC40 to share one 8(horizontal) x 13(vertical) selection box in session view instead of each having it's own box. I know it's possible to run two APC40s (or a 40 and a 20) either with independent selection boxes (how my Launchpad and APC are running now) or with a horizontal...

yes, what you describe is possible. if you can't do this, then something is awry. check for "leaky" controllers or midi loopback settings

overdubbing envelopes in arrangement view
is there a way to overdub envelopes in arrangement view? what i mean is, for example, could you record an envelope for, say, an operator in track 1, by arming the track, arming the global record, hitting play and then knob twidling, and then go back and automate a different parameter on the same tra...

Re: How can I map the cue level control to the tempo on a APC40?
just activate midi map mode (click the MIDI rectangle in the upper right corner), click the tempo control box in the left corner and then wiggle the cue volume knob.

Akai MPD 24 midi map mode
Hi, I'm using an Akai MPD24 with Live 8. I have the MPD selected as a control surface in Live's preferences and Live is receiving midi from the MPD, but I am unable to map Live controls to the MPD knobs and sliders. I activate midi map mode by clicking midi up in the corner of Live, and then I selec...
