Re: CPU Overload Glitch? (pls help)

I recently discovered a fix for my issues using Ableton 10 on a mac, though I have some specific circumstances, older computer. Laptop: Mid-2012 15inch Macbook Pro, Retina, 2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16mb RAM with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M OS X Mojave (issue was happening on High Sierra as well) ...

Re: Should I upgrade to OSX 10.6.4 ?

I was using 10.6.3 -- and was getting clicks and pops when I used Live. Always. I updated the OS to 10.6.4 and the clicks have disappeared. Sure enough, one of the "fixes" for 10.6.4 regarded firewire ausio interfaces. It would be nice if Apple posted known issues. My laptop died while sti...

Your solution, sir.

Got it. Something I remembered: Autohotkey. http://www.autohotkey.com Here's a post by a guy that assigned a right-click to his eraser using this: http://depherios.livejournal.com/76538.html No instructions, though. There's a fairly rabid community, however, so someone should be able to help you rig...

Actually, not sure about the eraser bit. Think so, though. You should download the penabled drivers regardless -- mosty likely far superior/recent to the drivers that came with your TabletPC.

Wacom "penabled" drivers

Hi again. Go ahead and install the Wacom "penabled" drivers. I installed them on my Toshiba TabletPC, no problem. You can set a System Restore point right before you install the new drivers if you are worried. You will be able to re-map your eraser. I'd also recommend purchasing a Cintiq 1...

It would help to know what OS you are using. To get Pen2Live to start up upon boot on XP, place it in the start folder. I don't have XP in front of me so I don't know the exact path -- it is in your user directory under documents and settings somewhere. To get it to start at boot under OS X go into ...

Oh yeah: The Audiofire doesn't appear to have the problems plaguing the RME interfaces when used with the MBP. I'm running it on a MBP Santa Rosa chipset without any difficulties. Apparently the problems have something to do with the Firewire chipset Apple went with recently. If your Mac Book Pro is...

There's a knob for the headphones, but there is a control panel/mixer that runs on your computer, which is where the output levels live. I'd send you a screenshot, but I have to have the Audiofire connected in order for it to come up, and I'm in the middle of moving so packed up.

Not sure about #5, but I'm using the Echo Audio Audiofire 4 and all the others apply. Love it.

Try this: http://www.coolbook.se/CoolBook.html I haven't paid for it yet, not sure if I need to. There are a few threads on the power-stepping with Live + MacBook Pro (Santa Rosa chipset specifically). Others have explained it pretty well.... Upping the voltage to the CPU works fine for me -- I had ...

CS3 and Leopard

Hi, I'm running Adobe Creative Suite 3 on Leopard without any problems. There was an issue with Quicktime renders in After Effects right after the AppleTV announcement 'cause Apple monkeyed around with Quicktime to get the movie rentals DRM set up. Apple released a fix within the week. I think that ...

I don't remember the specifics, but you can google it to find out. Yes, it makes a difference. BTW, do not buy Apple RAM. Try http://www.mushkin.com . The prices are much, much better and their RAM is very high quality. Cheaper and better than Apple. Kingston RAM is even cheaper but is reliable. -gl...

I think the quote is from Wired magazine. He was on the cover, just before they completely went over to 100% crap (they were around 75-80% crap at that point). The article was interesting, I have the issue somewhere. I haven't seen what he was describing, though a number of artists have made sound i...

If you are looking for a browser specific solution, a custom ActiveX control (IE only) or perhaps Java are the only things that come to mind. There is a very good reason browsers do not give websites access to a user's file system. I think most people would be more comfortable, from a security stand...
