Re: 8.2.6 will not open!

Off the top of my head here - perhaps you could research this more though: I think 8.2.3 (or around that) had a major change and you NEED it OR you need to download the complete update package. Since you've uninstalled, I'd say you can solve your problem by downloading the complete package and re-in...

What to do if you want a few beats of silence at clip start

Hey all, I'm working on a DJ set at the moment and I have a few songs where they start with vocals, say, 2 beats before the first beat of the first bar of music. I want to have my 1.1.1 position 2 beats BEFORE the start of the actual MP3 file - so there will be 2 beats silence, then 2 beats vocal, t...

Re: a problem with launchpad & apc20 combo

Yeah, no... I don't THINK that's a possibility with remote turned off mate...
Unless someone here knows some sorta workaround??

But by the book, no, you can't map them if remote is turned off...

Re: a problem with launchpad & apc20 combo

That actually makes a lot of sense - cos the apc would be using the "instant mappings" when you select it, so no real need for the remote/sync/track ;-) So that works well then? Might have to get an apc soon - faders following the "grid selection box" would be of great benefit! T...

Re: VST 's

Komplete 8 ultimate edition (I think it's called that, if my memory is correct ;-) Anyways - it COMES on an external HDD.... ie. - it's made to be run externally... And it is a pretty big, pretty heavy package, so I would say you'll never have any problems - but it may depend on how the VST works (d...

Re: A delete clip button: The one thing the launchpad is missing

if you have "select on launch" enabled... then you can simply hit the delete key... or use automapPro/bomes etc. It's a workaround I guess... It'd be awesome to not have to launch the clip though - cos unless you mute the track, the loop starts to play before you can delete it... Getting ...

Re: a problem with launchpad & apc20 combo

How'd you go with that? I'm considering adding a apc20 to my setup including a launchpad, but I would want to use the launchpad as a full unit, not just as a 64 button "keyboard" - I would also want session mode and some control of fx ( so I would need remote turned on I think, am i correc...

Re: APC40 <or> Launchpad + mixer ?

Ohm looks the best for sure - I'd probably have one or two if not for the pricetag, but I think the "block" would be a nice alternative with a second controller for the "mixing" (encoders & faders) - the ohm seems like a weird setup there with 4 faders per side rather than 8 ...

Re: A delete clip button: The one thing the launchpad is missing

Yeah, I'm not getting how you guys are "loving" the delete button.... Are you using arrow keys also when deleting clips rather than hitting a button on the launchpad and then hitting delete? if so - this only works when the focus stays on the grid, correct? if I mess around with an audio l...

Re: Launchpad connected (offline) while using the automap w live

Admittedly I was pointed straight to katapult...
Have you heard of / used it? It's a tops program, free to try, cheap to buy...
I now have the SL, so any live keyboard shortcuts I just use the SL now, leaving the launchpad free for session mode/ user mode use (don't use mixer much either now!)

Re: APC40 <or> Launchpad + mixer ?

you'll find out soon enough that you want 1 grid for the clips.. and another for other shenanigans... of course with 1 launchpad you can switch pages..constantly but that gets old very fast.. you need at least 2... I'm also looking to buy my 2nd launchpad .. Yep - one launchpad is your &q...

Re: Launchpad connected (offline) while using the automap w live

Some basics now that I've spent over a year nutting this out: 1. Launchpads being used in ableton should REALLY only be used natively, you don't need automap. The launchpad works best without it. 2. Automap probably could be used for programs other than ableton, but I've found midiKatapult to be the...

Re: Certain Virusscanners making ableton crash more!

I switched to Microsoft security essentials from kaspersky - then I got a virus within a month - crippled my PC and squashed MSE like a little bug... It's lightweight to say the VERY least - better off using no virus scanner and no Internet if using windows... Else you can get a Mac and do whatever ...

Re: Anything being done about the Automap jerky automation bug?

What is the issue exactly? I think I may have a similar issue using zero SL mk ii in 8.2.2 - hard to describe, but it seems to happen when I map to some parameters and not others, I turn a knob all the way down to zero and it will jump all the way back up to 127 - is this the issue you're experienci...
