The rubber erosion problem of Push V1 is a well known one, even at Ableton HQ. They said it was an issue with very first numbers of Pushes, not the later versions of V1. So Decksavers are a safe bet on later versions of Push V1, and will be on Push V2.

The way I solved it is to fill a umenu with the paths, send the umenu contents to a coll object, and finally save and recall the contents of the coll object ...
