It's alright but, to be honest,
there's a lot of hype around the plugs, they are good, but it's a big investment, the hardware isn't going to be aorund forever and there is equally as good stuff native these days.
.
Nice answer.
I think uad is a nice audio placebo, good marketing, nice gui's ...

Re: How do you feel about a sub in your monitor system?
I just added a Mackie HR120 to my studio yesterday. I have no idea how I made music without it. The difference is stunning.

Re: OT: Zoloft and anxiety/panic attacks
Your story is almost identical to mine. In 2003 I was dating a girl for just a couple months but was head over heals. Then one day she ended it for no apparent reason. Within days panic attacks started. They were TERRIBLE. My doctor put me on Lexapro and 2-3 weeks later the panic attacks stopped ...

Re: Latin Percussion audition very slow
I have my library on 2 Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10,000 RPM drives that are stripped together in a Quad 3.0 Ghz Mac Pro with 8Gb RAM. Previewing and loading takes a good 8-10 seconds. I also have a unibody Macbook Pro 15 with a 5,400 RPM drive and it takes 13-15 seconds on there.

I've always gone with 7200 but when I got my new 15 I did the 5400/160. The 160 uses Perpendicular storage which stacks the bits. Perpendicular is apparently more reliable then the traditional approach. But for sure it is faster because the data is stored more densely. That means each rotation reads ...

Fireface 400 - Anybody getting bus power on an Intel Mac?
The problem I have is:
The Fireface 400 can't power up off the bus. If I power it up of the power supply and then remove it, it will continue to run with only bus power. So it's only bus powered startup that fails.
This is what I tried:

Re: The Horror... the horror... (Sorting MP3s by Genre)
I love iTunes, but you can't both listen to a song, go quickly to the next and edit tags from the same screen.
You could make a play list for each genre and then move a track to the correct play list. Once you have them all done iTunes will let you bulk change/update the genre by selecting all ...
