Ableton 9 Crashes Forcing You to Logic?

I have already downloaded Logic and I am not familiar with the layout, nor do I like it. But I have NEVER experienced freezups with my iMac in many years of ownership until Ableton 9. So I am taking the huge step in learning a new DAW because the only "Push" I know about is freezups pushin...

First Freezup Ever on My Mac Due to Ableton 9

I feel like I am back to Windows. I have owned this iMac for about 3 years and never had a single freezup where I had to restart. That is until I installed Abes 9.

Thanks Ableton!

Re: Slice to MIDI - Increase or Decrease Sensitivity?

Best way is to put in some warp warkers were you want ableton to do slices and the slice by warp warker from the available slicing options I know but that is highly inconvenient, especially with 88 notes you are placing 88 warp markers. Where if they are 88 sine looking transients Ableton does it c...

Re: Slice to MIDI - Increase or Decrease Sensitivity?

you can't, but it's easy enough to delete the unwanted transients, and if needed, move the remaining ones. not ideal, but it's workable. These are not unwanted transients. If you play an instrument with a rugged transient like a harsh saw, it will think one note is 5 transients and split them all u...

I'm still in Live 8 where men are men and snaps are snaps.

Don't upgrade!!!! The "improvements" suck.

Slice to MIDI - Increase or Decrease Sensitivity?

When slicing to MIDI I would like to slice only on the silence. But Ableton sees one instrument sound as like 5 transients and wants to slice them all up. How do I decrease the sensitivity of the slicing to new MIDI???

Abelton 9 Weak Snap to Grid

Did anyone notice that snap to grid is now very weak? I find it hard to snap when drawing MIDI notes in a clip, sometimes drawing outside the grid.

3D Stereo Technique and Live Microkorg Performance

See if you can hear the 3D stereo technique. I accomplished it with use of Ableton's Utility, putting two instances of it in an effect rack and turning one to 200% width and turning up the volume on that one by 10dB. I also used a technique of Ableton's track delay feature, delaying the drums by 5m....

Video: How to Create that "BIg" "Huge" Sound

I show (one of many ways) how to get that "big" "huge" sound.

It's only a start in the mastering process but it helps.

Re: arturia cs80v

I don't find it very useful in terms of modern electronic music. It also sounds a bit thin for what it is. I do use the Jupiter quite a bit though. I think that is their best product.
